We can have different variables to represent each brother (there can be different variations and ways to solve, but I'll do it my way).

Matt=m
Jeff=3m
Todd=m+25

Matt                                  Jeff                   Todd
m+3m+(m+25)=275         3(50)                 50+25
             5m+25=275         =150                 =75
                   5m=250
                     m=50

Matt spent $50, Jeff spent $150 and Todd spent $75

Check:
50+150+75
=$225

I HAVE 5 MIN TO TURN THIS IN!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!
IT'S IN THE IMAGE BELOW
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

a.  x = 8 years

b.  52,000

Step-by-step explanation:

company A = 28,000 + 3,000 (x)

company B = 36,000 + 2,000 (x)

where x = no. of years.

  • company A = company B

28,000 + 3,000 (x) = 36,000 + 2000 (x)

3,000 (x) - 2,000 (x) = 36,000 - 28,000

1,000 (x) = 8,000

x = 8,000

     1,000

x = 8 years

  • plugin value of x = 8 into company A and B

company A = 28,000 + 3,000 (8)

company A = 52,000

company B = 36,000 + 2,000 (8)

company B = 52,000

14 less than a number all divided by the same number
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

(n-14) / n

Step-by-step explanation:

n is your number;

"14 less" means "subtract 14", --> we have (n-14);

now we need to divide (n-14) by same number as your number, which is "n"---> final expression is: (n-14)/n
