Answer:

A) scientific law

Explanation:

Scientific laws are laws that are well oberved and proved all around the globe with different measures and different experiments this is because scientific laws they can predict a wide variation of physical phenomenoms, in this case since gravity is observable and can be proved with experiments that are consistent all around the globe, is a scientific law.

A.  Scientific Law.  The mathematics surrounding the acceleration due to gravity is a law.  It is calculated from the universal law of gravity.  However, the explanation of the idea of gravity is a theory.  This falls back to the idea that science is about disproving ideas that we currently believe, rather than proving ideas are correct.  Unless we can disprove an idea, we have to accept the possibility that it is true; the more trials we have of being unable to disprove something, the more accepted it will be.  Yet, no idea can be without doubt and certainty be accepted for what it is.  So, to sum it up, scientific laws are factual descriptions (by formula or word) of phenomenon which always occur given specific conditions.  On the other hand, scientific theories are explanations of the causes underlying these phenomena, the explanation formulated in such a way that they can be disproven.

an oscilloscope has a time/div setting of 50ms and there are 10 divisions on the time scale. a sine wave on the oscilloscope dis
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

The frequency is f = 6Hz

Explanation:

Given

         The time division  setting is  d_t =50ms = 50*10^{-3}s

         The number of division is  n= 10

The total time for 10 division can be mathematically obtained as

         T_{total} = 10 *50*10^{-3}

                 =500 *10^{-3}s

From the question the time for 3 cycle is

        T_{total} = 500*10^{-3}s

Then the for one cycle which equivalent to the Period(T)  =  \frac{T_{total}}{3}

                                                               = \frac{500 *10^{-3}}{3}

The frequency is generally given as    f = \frac{1}{period} = \frac{1}{T}

    Now substituting values we have

                              f = \frac{3}{500 *10^{-3}}

                                 = 6Hz

Public television station KQED in San Francisco broadcasts a sinusoidal radio signal at a power of 777 kW. Assume that the wave
ehidna [41]

Answer:

A) P = 3.3 × 10^(-11) Pa

B) Amplitude of electric field = 1.931 N/C

Amplitude of magnetic field = 6.44 × 10^(-9) T

C) μ_av = 1.65 × 10^(-11) J/m³

D) 50% each for the electric and magnetic field

Explanation:

A) First of all let's calculate intensity.

I = P_av/A

We are given;

P_av = 777 KW = 777,000 W

Distance = 5 km = 5000 m

Thus;

I = 777000/(2π × 5000²)

I = 0.00495 W/m²

Now, the average pressure would be given by the formula;

P = 2I/C

Where C is speed of light = 3 × 10^(8) m/s

P = (2 × 0.00495)/(3 × 10^(8))

P = 3.3 × 10^(-11) Pa

B) Formula for the amplitude of the electric field is gotten from;

E_max = √[2I/(εo•c)].

Where εo is the Permittivity of free space with a constant value of 8.85 × 10^(−12) c²/N.mm²

I and c remain as before.

Thus;

E_max = √[(2 × 0.00495)/(8.85 × 10^(−12) × 3 × 10^(8))]

E_max = √3.72881355932

E_max = 1.931 N/C

Formula for amplitude of magnetic field is gotten from;

B_max = E_max/c

B_max = 1.931/(3 × 10^(8))

B_max = 6.44 × 10^(-9) T

C) Formula for average density is;

μ_av = εo(E_rms)²

Now, E_rms = E_max/√2

Thus;

E_rms = 1.931/√2

μ_av = 8.85 × 10^(−12) × (1.931/√2)²

μ_av = 1.65 × 10^(-11) J/m³

D) The energy density for the electric and magnetic field is the same. So both of them will have 50% of the energy density.

What fraction of Earth’s volume is taken up by the core?
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

Although the core and mantle are about equal in thickness, the core actually forms only 15 percent of the Earth's volume, whereas the mantle occupies 84 percent. The crust makes up the remaining 1 percent.

The ball of a ballpoint pen is 0.5 mm in diameter and has an ASTM grain size of 12. How many grainsare there in the ball
Alina [70]

Answer:

the number of grains in the ball is 274,848

Explanation:

Given that;

diameter = 0.5 mm

so radius r = 0.25 mm

first we determine the volume of the ball using the following equation;

V = 4/3×πr³

we substitute

V = 4/3×π(0.25)³

V =  0.06544 mm³

Now form table 1.1 "Grain sizes" a metal with grain size number of 12 has about 4,200,000 grains/mm³

so;

Number of grains N = 0.06544 × 4,200,000

N = 274,848 grains

Therefore, the number of grains in the ball is 274,848
