By definition we have to:

 A mathematical function is a relationship that is established between two sets, through which each element of the first set is assigned a single element of the second set or none.
 The initial set or starting set is also called the domain; the final set or set of arrival, meanwhile, can be called codomain.

 For this case, the table represents a function and the function is linear because the rate of change (slope) is constant and equal to 200.

The Table 1 represents the function because every x value corresponds to exactly one y value.

Further explanation:

Given:

The number of hours of training and monthly pay is shown in attached Table 1.

Calculation:

A function is defined as a relation between the independent variable and the dependent variable.

In a function of the form y=f(x) the independent variable is represented by x and the dependent variable is represented by y.

The ordered pair of the form (x,y) represent the set of pairs which defines the function.

The set of all the values of x is called the domain of the function and the set of all the value of y is called the range of the function

The function between x and y can be written as follows:

\boxed{y=f(x)}

From the attached Table 1, it can be seen that for every hour of training there is exactly unique monthly pay.

For 10 hour of training the monthly pay is 1220 and for 20 hour of training the monthly pay is 1420.

Similarly, for every hour of training exactly one monthly pay.

It can be seen from Table 1 that the relationship between the number of hour of training and monthly pay is a function because there is only unique monthly pay for every hour of training.

Answer correclty
kolezko [41]

Answer:

2. B) The events have a strong positive linear correlation.

1. C) Find the slope using the slope formula:

\frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}

Step-by-step explanation:

2. The correlation coefficient is 0,02, which is positive, so this would be the obvious choice.

1. You CANNOT write a linear equation without FIRST finding the rate of change [slope]. You will ALWAYS need the rate of change in order to write any linear equation.
