Pierre cycles at 4 miles per hour and travels a distance of 13 miles. How long
amm1812

Answer:

His journey took him 3 hours 15 minutes.

Explanation: 4 miles every hour. So 1 hr is equal to 4 miles, 2 hrs is equal to 8 miles, 3 hrs is equal to 12 miles. Now he just has 1 miles left, and since it takes him a hour to cycle 4 miles, 60 divided by 4 is 15. Therefore, 1 mile is equal to 15 minutes.

Model rocket A is launched at an angle of 70° above the x axis, with an initial velocity of 40 m/s. An identical rocket B is lau
amid [387]
<span>A. Rocket A will travel farther horizontally than rocket B.

This is because from the x axis, 40 m/s at 90 degrees travels directly vertical. 40 m/s at 70 degrees is slightly horizontal, so it will travel further horizontally.</span>

Radar is used to determine distances to various objects by measuring the round-trip time for an echo from the object. (a) How fa
BartSMP [9]

Answer

given,

Echo time = t = 1000 s

speed = ?

v = \dfrac{d}{t}

a) speed of electromagnetic wave

c = \dfrac{d}{t}

wave travels Venus two time

c = \dfrac{2d}{t}

d = \dfrac{ct}{2}

d = \dfrac{3 \times 10^8\times 1000}{2}

d = 1.5 x 10¹¹ m

b) now, echo time

    c = \dfrac{2d}{t}

    t = \dfrac{2d}{c}

    t = \dfrac{2\times 75}{3 \times 10^8}

          t = 5 x 10⁻⁷ s
