<u>How to do Negative Addition</u>

Negative Addition is almost like Positive addition. The only catch in Negative Addition is that it is like subtracting. Let me make this clearer. If you draw a number line, with the positives and the Negatives, it will look somewhat like this. (Attachment down below). As you see, the Positives are increasing to the right, but the Negatives are increasing to the left.

When you do addition, you increase right? Like you have 8+4 which is 12. In positive addition you increase to the right, (look on number line). So, if you reverse it to -8+4 you would have to increase to the right, not the left. -8+4 is not -12 because when you add, you increase not decrease. (-12 is smaller than -8 and 4).

So that means -8+4 is -4.

Trick: Subtraction

Another way to think about it is replacing the addition sign to a minus sign then make the negative go away. So, we get 8-4 which is 4. And then we put the negative sign at the 4, so we get -4.

If you don't understand this, plz tell me

<u>Solving your Problem</u>

1) Take out the X to make it simple (Later we are going to add it back

2)Draw a number line to help you (Optional)

3) Use the subtraction Trick (Optional, but imma use it)

4) 6-7= -1 (Make that positive)

5) The answer is 1x

I hope this helped if you want here is some practice questions to get you ready and comfortable with this skill

Math! Need help will give brainliest if CORRECT
SOVA2 [1]

Hey there! I'm happy to help!

So we want to see which of these have the greatest value. Since these are all negative numbers, we want the one that is closest to zero.

So, we know that -1000 is going to furthest from 0. -10 will be further than -8 since it is a larger negative number, so it will be more negative than -8.

-1/2 is just barely negative, so it is going to be closer to -0 than -8, so the correct answer is C. -1/2.

Have a wonderful day and keep on learning! :D

How does adding the log together automatically mean that it is a factorial?
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer: The answer is given below.

Step-by-step explanation:  We are given an equality involving logarithm and we are to show the implication of L.H.S. to R.H.S.

We will be using the following two properties of logarithm:

(i)~\log_ba=\dfrac{1}{\log_ab},\\\\\\(ii)~log_ab+\log_ac=\log_a(bc).

The proof is as follows:

L.H.S.\\\\\\=\dfrac{1}{\log_2N}+\dfrac{1}{\log_3N}+\dfrac{1}{\log_4N}+\cdots+\dfrac{1}{\log_{100}N}\\\\\\=\log_N2+\logN3+\log_N4+\cdots+\log_N100\\\\=\log_N\{2.3.4...100\}\\\\=\log_N\{1.2.3.4...100\}\\\\=\log_N{100!}\\\\=\dfrac{1}{\log_{100!}N}\\\\=R.H.S.

Hence proved.
