Answer:

Heat can travel from one place to another in three ways: Conduction, Convection and Radiation. The better the conductor, the more rapidly heat will be transferred. Metal is a good conduction of heat. Conduction occurs when a substance is heated, particles will gain more energy, and vibrate more.

Convection: The transfer of heat by the movement of a fluid (liquid or gas) between areas of different temperature. Warm air is less dense than cold air, and so convection currents can form in the presence of a temperature gradient.

Conduction: The transfer of energy, such as heat or an electric charge, through a substance. In heat conduction, energy is transferred from molecule to molecule by direct contact.

Radiation: The emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves or particles through space or through a material medium. This includes: electromagnetic radiation, such as radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, x-rays, and gamma radiation (γ)

How many joules of work are done against a truck when a force of 50 N pushes it 1 kilometer away
ELEN [110]

Answer:

Work = 50,000 J

Explanation:

Work = force * distance

Given that,

  • force = 50N
  • Distance = 1km = 1000m

Work = 50 * 1000

Work = 50,000 J

An orchestra is practicing a piece that is to be played at an allegro tempo. The conductor sets a metronome at 160 beats per min
omeli [17]

Answer:

375 ms

Explanation:

the frequency of metronome , f = 160 beats per minute

f = 160 /60 beats per sec

f = 2.67 beats /s

the period of a single beat , T = 1/f

T = 1/2.67 s

T = 0.375 s = 375 ms

the period of a single beat is 375 ms

Your 64-cm-diameter car tire is rotating at 3.3 rev/swhen suddenly you press down hard on the accelerator. After traveling 250 m
umka21 [38]

Answer:

0.76 rad/s^2

Explanation:

First, we convert the original and final velocity from rev/s to rad/s:

v_o = 3.3\frac{rev}{s} * \frac{2\pi rad}{1rev} =20.73 rad/s

v_f = 6.4\frac{rev}{s} * \frac{2\pi rad}{1rev}=40.21 rad/s

Now, we need to find the number of rads that the tire rotates in the 250m path. We use the arc length formula:

D = x*r \\x = \frac{D}{r} = \frac{250m}{0.64m/2} = 781.25 rads

Now, we just use the formula:

w_f^2-w_o^2=2\alpha*x

\alpha =\frac{w_f^2-w_o^2}{2x} = \frac{(40.21rad/s)^2-(20.73rad/s)^2}{2*781.25rad} = 0.76 rad/s^2
