Expression

(5+3)+(5x2)=p

Solution

18

(Step-by-Step)

In this expression we simply have to use basic PEMDAS (Parenthesis Equation Multiplication Division Addition Subtraction) Order.

We start by working out the parenthesis

5 + 3  and 5 x 2

First let's work out our metal and wood paperweights

5+3=8

Simple enough, we have 8 metal AND wood paperweights

Now we have to work out our glass paperweights.

We have twice as many glass as we do metal PW's  meaning we need to multiply the 5 metal paperweights by 2

5x2=10

This simplifies and boils our equation down to

8+10

simply solve and add the two and you have your answer

18

Daniel has $25 to spend at the fair. If the admission to the fair is $4 and the rides cost $1.50 each , what is thw greatest num
kondor19780726 [428]
$25 is the total amount of money.
Admission is a constant, meaning that price will not vary and is fixed.
The rides each cost something so the price of rides will vary, unlike the constant (admission).

Thus making x the number of rides, we have the equation:
25 = 4 + 1.5x.
We need to solve for x, but x must be a whole number so we will round down if the solution is not an integer.

1.5x = 21
Divide by 1.5 on both sides.
x=14

Daniel can go on 14 rides maximum.

Which equation represents a line passing through the point (8,33) with a slope of 3?
Delvig [45]

The slope intercept form of equation of required line is y = 3x + 9

What is equation of line in slope intercept form?

The most general form of equation of line in slope intercept form is given by y = mx + c

Where m is the slope of the line and c is the y intercept of the line.

Slope of a line is the tangent of the angle that the line makes with the positive direction of x axis.

If  \theta is the angle that the line makes with the positive direction of x axis, then slope (m) is given by

m =  tan\theta

The distance from the origin to the point where the line cuts the x axis is the x intercept of the line.

The distance from the origin to the point where the line cuts the y axis is the y intercept of the line.

Here,

Slope = 3

The line passes through (8, 33)

Equation of required line

y - 33 = 3(x - 8)

y - 33 = 3x - 24

y = 3x - 24 + 33

y = 3x + 9
