Answer:

Mass, M=4.24\times 10^9\ kg

Explanation:

Given that,

Angular velocity of the star, \omega=1.6\ reav/s

Radius of the star, r = 48 cm = 0.48 m

The centripetal force acting on the on the star is caused by the gravitational force such that,

\dfrac{GMm}{r^2}=\dfrac{mv^}{r}

\dfrac{GM}{r}=v^2

Since, v=r\omega

M=\dfrac{r^3\omega^2}{G}

M=\dfrac{(0.48)^3\times (1.6)^2}{6.67\times 10^{-11}}

M=4.24\times 10^9\ kg

So, the minimum mass so that material on its surface remains in place during the rapid rotation is 4.24\times 10^9\ kg

 A light-year is how astronomers measure distance in space.
-Light can travel 300,000 kilometres in one seconds!
Light year is the distance that light travel can travel in one year.
-Light can also travel 9,00,000,000,000 kilometers.
-One light is about 10 trillion km.
-Almost 300 years ago ,a Danish scientist named olaus roemer,was the fist man to estimate the distance light travels in a year -and using that he figure out the approximate speed of light!

What is the velocity of a wave with a wavelength of 9 meters and a period of 0.006
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer: 1,500m/s

Explanation:

Relationship existing between velocity of a wave (v), wavelength(¶) and frequency(f) is

v = f¶... (1)

Since Frequency (f) is the reciprocal of the period (T);

Frequency = 1/Period i.e F = 1/T... (2)

Substituting equation 2 into 1 we have;

v = 1/T × ¶

v = ¶/T

Given wavelength ¶ = 9m

Period T = 0.006s

v = 9/0.006

v = 1,500m/s

The velocity of the wave will be 1,500m/s

What is the gravitational acceleration close to the surface of a planet with a mass of 9ME and radius of 3RE, where ME and RE ar
Papessa [141]

Answer:

9.78 m/s²

Explanation:

To solve this, we use the gravitational formula

g = GM/r², where

g = acceleration due to gravity

G = gravitational constant

M = mass of the planet

r = radius of the planet

From the question, we got that the mass of the planet is

M = 9ME, where ME = 5.95*10^24

M = 9 * 5.95*10^24

M = 5.355*10^25 kg

Also, the Radius of the planet, R = 3RE, where RE = 6.37*10^6

R = 3 * 6.37*10^6

R = 1.911*10^7 m

On applying the values of both R and M to the equation, we get

g = GM/r²

g = (6.67*10^-11 * 5.355*10^25) / (1.911*10^7)²

g = 3.57*10^15/3.65*10^14

g = 9.78 m/s²

Therefore, the acceleration due to gravity on the planet is 9.78 m/s²
