How many liters of air must react with 2500 mL of hexane in order for combustion to occur completely. The percentage of oxygen i
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

118750 ml

Explanation:

The chemical equation for complete combustion of hexane is given as;

2C6H14 + 19O2 → 12CO2 + 14H2O

From the equation of the reaction;

2 mol of C6H14 reacts with 19 mol of O2

2 ml of C6H14 reacts with 19 ml of O2

2500 mL of C6H14 would react with x ml of O2

2 = 19

2500 = x

x = 2500 * 19 / 2 = 23750 ml

Since oxygen is 20% of air;

23750 = 20 / 100 * (Volume of air)

Volume of air = 23750 * 100 / 20 = 118750 ml

Two compounds are standing at the same temperature. Compound "A" is evaporating more slowly than compound "B." According to the
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

Option D) Compound B may have a lower molecular weight.

Explanation:

Compound A and B are standing at the same temperature yet compound A is evaporating more slowly than compound B.

This simply indicates that compound B have a lower molecular weight than compound A.

This can further be seen when gasoline and kerosene are placed under same temperature. The gasoline will evaporate faster than kerosene because the molecular weight of the gasoline is low when compared to that of the kerosene.

How many grams of Br are in 255 g of CaBr2?
Scilla [17]
Molar mass:

Br = 79.904 g/mol
CaBr2 = 199.886 g/mol

CaBr2 = 2 Br + Ca

199.886 g --------------- 2 x 79.904 g
255 g -------------------- ?? ( mass of Br )

255 x 2 x 79.904 / 199.886 =

40751.04 / 199.886 =>203.87 g of Br

hope his helps!
