The Peasant life in the Middle Ages was not easy. They worked long hours and usually had a life of poverty. They worked in stretches of land that was owned by local lords in return of protection. Many peasants that lived on manors desired large families because since there was a lot of work, with more family members, more work could be divided between the family members.
