According to the plate tectonics theory, earthquakes, volcanoes and mountain building process occur due to the interaction of the rigid plates on the earth's crust.
Mountains are as a result of volcanoes which are created by the movement of plate tectonics, which erupt and form mountains. Formation of these mountains is as a result of compression of sediments caused by the collision of two convergent plate boundaries.
It's along the convergent plate boundaries that interactions occur which creates volcanic activities and mountain building.
