Answer: nS²

Answer: According to the periodic law, elements that fall into the same group have similar properties.

All the alkaline earth metals are in group two of the periodic table. The have 2 electrons in their outermost shell. In the SPDF electronic configuration the ground state of all alkaline earth have S² two electrons in their outermost S sublevel.

Example the electronic configuration of some alkaline earth metals are

Beryllium [He] 2S²

Magnesium is [Ne] 3S² and

Calcium is [Ar] 4S²

the general electronic configuration for alkaline earth metals is nS²

maksim [4K]

Explanation:

According to the analysis, Molarity is amount mole per volume(1L). the amount in mole would be molarity × volume in litres.

0.500M × (250/1000)L= 0.125moles.

A weighed piece of magnesium ribbon is added to a dried crucible, which is reweighed and heated in air to form the compound MgO.
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:

One of the errors for low percentage of magnesium could be because not all the magnesium may have reacted.

Explanation:

During the heating process, if the magnesium have not reacted completely, it can lead to low percentage of magnesium in the oxide formed. The product may still look a bit greyish rather than whitish after the heating process.
