One kind of baseball pitching machine works by rotating light and stiff rigid rod about a horizontal axis until the ball is movi

ng toward the target. Suppose a 144 gg baseball is held 81 cm from the axis of rotation and released at the major league pitching speed of 81 mph.
a. What is the ball's centripetal acceleration just before it is released?
b. What is the magnitude of the net force that is acting on the ball just before it is released?

Answer:

(a). The ball's centripetal acceleration is 16.17\times10^{2}\ m/s^2

(b). The magnitude of the net force is 232.9 N.

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of baseball = 144 g

Speed = 81 mph = 36.2 m/s

Distance = 81 cm

(a). We need top calculate the ball's centripetal acceleration just before it is released

Using formula of centripetal acceleration

a=\dfrac{v^2}{r}

Where, v = speed

r  = radius

Put the value into the formula

a=\dfrac{(36.2)^2}{81\times10^{-2}}

a=1617.82\ m/s^2

a=16.17\times10^{2}\ m/s^2

(b). We need to calculate the magnitude of the net force that is acting on the ball just before it is released

Using formula of force

F=\dfrac{mv^2}{r}

Put the value into the formula

F=\dfrac{144\times10^{-3}\times(36.2)^2}{81\times10^{-2}}

F=232.9\ N

Hence, (a). The ball's centripetal acceleration is 16.17\times10^{2}\ m/s^2

(b). The magnitude of the net force is 232.9 N.

si tienes 2 circuitos uno en serie y otro en paralelo con el mismo valor en sus resistencias, para cuál circuito la resistencia
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

circuito paralelo

Explanation:

A force of 6 N acts on a 33 kg object for 9 seconds. What is the objects change in velocity?
GuDViN [60]
Acceleration = change in velocity/time
By F = ma,
6 = 33 x change in velocity / 9
change in velocity = +1.636 m/s

An electromagnetic wave of wavelength 435 nm is traveling in vacuum in the —z direction. The electric field has an amplitude of
joja [24]

Answer:

a) 6.9*10^14 Hz

b) 9*10^-12 T

Explanation:

Given that

The wavelength of the wave, λ = 435 nm

Amplitude of the electric field, E(max) = 2.7*10^-3 V/m

a)

The frequency of the wave can be found by using the formula

c = fλ, where c = speed of light

f = c/λ

f = 3*10^8 / 435*10^-9

f = 6.90*10^14 Hz

b)

E(max) = B(max) * c, magnetic field amplitude, B(max) =

B(max) = E(max)/c

B(max) = 2.7*10^-3 / 3*10^8

B(max) = 9*10^-12 T

c)

1T = 1 (V.s/m^2)

A man starts his car from rest and accelerates at 1 m/s2 for 2 s. He then continues at a constant velocity for 10 s until
Bumek [7]

Answer: I showed you all calculation . You did not attach any graph to question .

Explanation:

Lets first find Velocity

Vr=o m/s

Ve=?

a=1m/s²

t=2s

----------

a=(Vr-V)/t

1m/s²=Vr-0m/s/2s

2m/s=Vr

Lets find the time neeeded to stop :

a=1m/s²

Vs=2m/s

Vf=0m/s

a=(Vf-Vs)/t

t*1m/s²=2m/s

t=2 s

"List, from beginning to end, the stages in the weather as a cold front goes by: (a) warm air is forced upward where it cools; (
RSB [31]

Answer:

(a) warm air is forced upward where it cools;

(c) cumulonimbus or nimbo-stratus clouds form

(d) thunderstorms with heavy showers and gusty winds occur"

(b) air cools and sinks, pressure rises, rain stops;

Explanation:

  • A cold for front is a denser air , as that forms under the warmer and lighter air mass and this causes a low pressure along the  cold form and thus causes the formation of a thunderstorm where enough moisture is present and  drop in temperature occurs and in the northern hemisphere the cold front shifts the winds to from the southwest to northwest clockwise.
