Answer: B. Wetland

Surface runoff refers to the flow of water from rain, snow melt or other sources ,that flows of the land surface. Wetland is a land that occupies water either permanently or seasonally. Wetlands are formed when the large depression exists in the land and water from any source like river, streams of river or ocean gets accumulated inside the depression. It results in formation of water body in a land, for example lakes, pond or estuary. The water in the wetland can be freshwater or saline water, depending on the source of water.

Therefore, surface water collect in the wetland if it does not flow to the ocean.

True or false? A mating between a tetraploid individual and a diploid individual produces biologically fit offspring.
Katyanochek1 [597]

A cross between a diploid individual and a tetraploid individual produces triploid offspring.  There are many species of plants that are triploid, but those come from crosses between two triploid individuals. In those cases, the chromosomes from one parent match up with the chromosomes from the other parent just fine. The same is not true with a cross of a tetraploid and a diploid.  In that case, one third of the chromosomes are unmatch, causing many offspring to die, to be sterile, or to be generally unfit.  Long story short, the answer you seek is False.

There is as much energy used to add a phosphate group by means of phosphorolysis, as the energy required adding a phosphate usin
xxTIMURxx [149]

The correct answer is (B) False.

There is not as much energy used to add a phosphate group by means of phosphorolysis, as the energy required adding a phosphate using ATP.

What is Phosphorolysis?

  • Glycogen phosphorolysis is a process that occurs at the start of glycogen breakdown. As a result, glucose can be produced from glycogen.
  • Glycogen phosphorolylsis catalyzes glycogen phosphorolytic cleavage, resulting in glycogen-1-phosphate.
  • However, when cleaving glucose from glycogen, a non-reducing terminal is eliminated.
  • Furthermore, phosphoglucomutase can convert glucose-1-phosphate generated from glycogen into G6P, allowing it to go directly to glycolysis.
  • It should be noted that going straight to glycolysis eliminates the need for ATP to convert glucose to G6P.
  • If the glucose created by glycolysis is consumed, three ATPs are produced.
  • Phosphorolysis requires less energy than ATP to add a phosphate group.

What are chromosomes? When do chromosomes form?
defon

Answer:

Chromosomes are coiled structures made of DNA and proteins. They contain genes, which basically code for proteins. Chromosomes form after DNA replicates. In other words, chromosomes form as DNA becomes foiled during the process of prophase I, thus creating chromosomes.

Hope this helped! :)
