Answer:

23.09 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

Please find the attachment.

Let x be the distance between the person and the boat.

We have been given that a boat is 20 ft away from a point perpendicular to the shoreline. A person stands at a point down the shoreline so that a 60° angle is formed between the closest point to the boat, the person, and the boat.

We can see from our attachment that the boat, shoreline and position of person forms a right triangle, where side with 20 feet length is opposite side and x is hypotenuse for our given angle.

Since we know that Sine relates the opposite and hypotenuse of a right triangle, so we will use Sine to find the value of x.

\text{Sine}=\frac{\text{Opposite}}{\text{Hypotenuse}}

Upon substituting our given values in above formula we will get,

\text{Sin}(60)=\frac{20}{x}

x=\frac{20}{\text{Sin}(60)}

x=\frac{20}{0.866025403784}

x=23.094\approx 23.09

Therefore, the person is 23.09 feet away from the boat.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation is,

a). y = \frac{6}{x}

x        0.5                1            2            3            4              5             6

y       \frac{6}{0.5}=12      \frac{6}{1}=6      \frac{6}{2}=3      \frac{6}{3}=2     \frac{6}{4}=1.5     \frac{6}{5}=1.2     \frac{6}{6}=1

b). By plotting the input-output values on the graph we get the curve as shown in option C.

Therefore, Option C will be the answer.

I am not sure how to slove
notsponge [240]

First .... the limit of the given function is NOT EQUAL to 5 (it diverges so it has no limit).  There is a typo.  The 14 should be positive.

\lim_{x \to\ 7} \bigg(\dfrac{x^2-9x+14}{x-7}\bigg)=5

The precise definition of a limit is:

\text{If for every } \epsilon>0\text{ there exists a }\delta >0\text{ such that}\\|f(x)-L|

Given:

f(x) = \dfrac{x^2-9x+14}{x-7}\\\\L=5\\\\a=7\\\\\\|f(x)-L|

⇒ \epsilon = \delta

When ε = 0.1,     δ = 0.1

When ε = 0.01,   δ = 0.01
