Actually, it is the total possible outcomes. Think of it this way:

If you toss a coin, there are two outcomes.
If you roll a dice, there are six outcomes.

What happens if you  do both?

Well, for every time you land on heads, there are six faces for the die that are possible,

same with tails. another six out comes.

So total possible outcomes =  6 * 2.

Probability of getting a heads AND 3 on the dice? 1/(6*2)

Two stabilizing wires extend from the top of a pole to the ground, forming right triangles on
FrozenT [24]

Answer: the height of the pole is 16.1 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

The scenario is illustrated in the attached photo.

x represents the height of the pole.

y represents the distance from the foot of one stabilizing wire to the foot of the pole.

30 - y represents the distance from the foot of the other stabilizing wire to the foot of the pole.

In solving the triangles, we would apply the tangent trigonometric ratio which is expressed as

Tan θ, = opposite side/adjacent side.

Considering triangle ACD,

Tan 60 = x/y

x = ytan60 = y × 1.732

x = 1.732y- - - - - - - - -1

Considering triangle BCD,

Tan 38 = x/(30 - y)

x = (30 - y)tan38 = 0.781(30 - y)

x = 23.43 - 0.781y- - - - - - - - -2

Substituting equation 1 into equation 2, it becomes

1.732y = 23.43 - 0.781y

1.732y + 0.781y = 23.43

2.513y = 23.43

y = 23.43/2.513

y = 9.3

x = 1.732y = 1.732 × 9.3

x = 16.1 m

IF ONE THIRD OF THE SCHOOL STUDENTS LIKE MATHEMATICS AND 400 STUDENTS DO NOT LIKE MATHEMATICS , THEN HOW MANY STUDENTS DOES THE
boyakko [2]

Answer:

There are 600 students in this school.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let p represent the total population of the school.

Then (1/3)p represents the number of students who like math.  Subtracting this (1/3)p from p gives an expression representing those who do not like math:

p - (1/3)p = (2/3)p

400 students do not like math, so (2/3)p = 400.

Solve this for p by multiplying both sides by (3/2):

(3/2)(2/3)p = (3/2)(400), which simplifies to p = 600.

There are 600 students in this school.
