(x+1)^2-x^2=(x^2+2x+1)-x^2=2x+1

Let x=2003. Then

2004^2-2003^2=(2003+1)^2-2003^2=2\cdot2003+1=4007

Similarly, if x=2001, then

2002^2-2001^2=2\cdot2001+1=4003

So

2004^2-2003^2+2002^2-2001^2=4007+4003=8010

Alternatively, you can consider the larger expression

(x+3)^2-(x+2)^2+(x+1)^2-x^2

Expanding each binomial product gives

(x^2+6x+9)-(x^2+4x+4)+(x^2+2x+1)-x^2=4x+6

Then if x=2001, we get

2004^2-2003^2+2002^2-2001^2=4\cdot2001+6=8010

Komok [63]

Answer:

i think the answer is (B)

Step-by-step explanation:

The y value of a point where a vertical line intersects a graph represents an output for that input x value. If we can draw any vertical line that intersects a graph more than once, then the graph does not define a function because that x value has more than one output.

6 pairs of shorts, for a
"s" dollars. A blazer costs 3 times as much, she bought one. The total was 139.50

6s + 3(6s) = 139.50
6s + 18s = 139.50
25s = 139.50 Divide everything by 25,
s = 5.58, which is how much the shorts were. Now for the blazers ;

It said they were three times the cost of shorts, if shorts are 5.58, it is 3*5.58.

If 3 is added to a certain number, the results is 15 less than three times the number. Find the number
Harman [31]

Answer:

number = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

number = x

3 is added to a number = (x+3) result

3 times the number = 3x

15 less than three times the number = 3x-15

the results is 15 less than three times the number

x+3 = 3x -15

3x-x= 3+15

2x = 18

x=9
