During a snowball fight , your opponent distracts you by throwing a snowball at you in a high arc. she thriws snowballs with a s

peed of 24.5 m/s and the first is thrown at 70.0 degrees. As you are watching the first snowball, she throws a second at a lower angle. If both snowballs cover the same horizontal distance, at what angle should the second be thrown?

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

launch velocity u=24.5\ m/s

first ball launch angle \theta _1=70^{\circ}

Suppose another ball is thrown at an angle of \theta _2

Both ball have same range

Range of Projectile R=\frac{u^2\sin 2\theta }{g}

R_1=\frac{u^2\sin 2\theta _1}{g}

For second ball

R_2=\frac{u^2\sin 2\theta _2}{g}

R_1=R_2

\frac{u^2\sin 2\theta _1}{g}=\frac{u^2\sin 2\theta _2}{g}

\sin 2\theta _1=\sin 2theta _2

Either \theta _1=\theta _2 or

2\theta _1=180-2\theta _2

I.e. \theta _2=90-\theta _1

\theta _2=90-70=20^{\circ}

so another ball must be thrown at 20^{\circ}

Murljashka [212]

Answer:

a) red wave hs a longer wavelength than the green wave

b)f = 1.875 10¹¹ Hz ,  f_green = 5.45 10¹⁴Hz

c)   E = 1.24 10⁻²² J , E_green = 3.6 10⁻¹⁹ J

d) The red wave is in the infrared range, heat waves

The green wave is in the visible wavelength

Explanation:

a) The green wave are on the left in the electromagnetic spectrum so the red wave has a longer wavelength than the green wave

The green wavelength is in the range of 550 10⁻⁹ m

The speed of the wave is

            c = λ f

            f = c /λ

b) The frequency of the red wave is

            f = 3 10⁸ / 1.6 10⁻³

            f = 1.875 10¹¹ Hz

For the green wave

           f_green = 3 10⁸/550 10⁻⁹

           f_green = 5.45 10¹⁴Hz

c) The photon energy is given by the Planck equation

             E = h f

             E = 6.63 10⁻³⁴ 1.875 10¹¹

             E = 1.24 10⁻²² J

For the green wave

              E_green = 6.63 10⁻³⁴ 5.45 10¹⁴

              E_green = 3.6 10⁻¹⁹ J

d) The speed of electromagnetic waves is constant and has a value of 3 108 m / s

e)

The red wave is in the infrared range, heat waves

The green wave is in the visible wavelength

A soccer ball with mass 0.450 kg is initially moving with speed 2.20 m/s. A soccer player kicks the ball, exerting a constant fo
Alinara [238K]

Answer:

0.187 m

Explanation:

We'll begin by calculating the acceleration of the ball. This can be obtained as follow:

Mass (m) = 0.450 Kg

Force (F) = 38 N

Acceleration (a) =?

F = m × a

38 = 0.450 × a

Divide both side by 0.450

a = 38 / 0.450

a = 84.44 m/s²

Finally, we shall determine the distance. This can be obtained as follow:

Initial velocity (u) = 2.20 m/s.

Final velocity (v) = 6 m/s

Acceleration (a) = 84.44 m/s²

Distance (s) =?

v² = u² + 2as

6² = 2.2² + (2 × 84.44 × s)

36 = 4.4 + 168.88s

Collect like terms

36 – 4.84 = 168.88s

31.52 = 168.88s

Divide both side by 168.88

s = 31.52 / 168.88

s = 0.187 m

Thus, the distance is 0.187 m

How much heat is absorbed by a 71g iron skillet when its temperature rises from 11oC to 29oC?
diamong [38]
The right formula to use for this calculation is the heat capacity formula,
Heat absorbed, Q = MCT, Where
M = Mass of the substance = 71
C = Specific heat capacity for iron = 0.450 J/gc
T = Change in temperature = 29 - 11 = 18
Q = 71 * 0.450 *18 = 575.10
The amount of heat absorbed by the iron skillet is 575 J.
