Direct variation describes a simple relationship between two variables . We say y varies directly with x

This means that as x increases, y increases and as x decreases, y decreases

Given equation is y = kx,

if x is doubled,

so plug in x = 2x in the given equation so new y1 will become

y1 = k ( 2x)

y1= 2kx

y1 = 2 y

So y becomes doubles

Find the distance between 6.2 and<br> -4.3 on a number line.
Nitella [24]

Answer:

The two given numbers are 10.5 units apart.

Step-by-step explanation:

Subtract the smaller from the larger.  The larger number here is 6.2. Then we have

6.2 - (-4.3) = 6.2 + 4.3 = 10.5

The two given numbers are 10.5 units apart.

The equation y = kx represents a proportional relationship between x and y, where k is the constant of proportionality. For a mo
kvasek [131]

Answer:

Hello!!!

In this specific case the constant of proportionality is s (speed).

Step-by-step explanation:

The constant of proportionality stay "constant" (as the name suggests) in a certain case.

meaning, the speed itself remains constant at any given distance or time.

You can use the constant of proportionality and either distance or time to find the missing varliable since it remains constant.

you can also switch up the formula:

d=st

t=d/s

s=d/t

i really hope this helps!!!!!
