Answer:

Fabric used by each each player for headband is 16.51 inches and fabric used for wristband is 1.99 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

In first case it is given that there are  players and 2 coaches

So total number = 44+2 = 46

It is given that 759.46 inches of fabric is used on headbands for 44 players and 2 coaches

So fabric used by each player =\frac{759.46}{46}=16.51inches

Now in second 87.64 inches fabric is used for 44 players

So fabric used by each players =\frac{387.64}{44}=1.99inches

So fabric used by wristband is 1.99 inches

Solve by inspection: X+4=15
amid [387]

x + 4 = 15

- 4        -4

x = 11

You would subtract 4 because you need to isolate the x to get the value of x. You would subtract it to both sides because whatever you do on one side, you have to do it to the other side.

A ship at position (1, 0) on a nautical chart (with north in the positive y direction) sights a rock at position (6, 5). What is
OLga [1]

Answer:

The vector joining the ship to the rock is t= 7 i + 5 j

The direction is 0.9505 radians east of north.

Step-by-step explanation:

The position vector of the ship:

r= 1 i + 0 j

The position vector of the ship:

s= 6 i + 5 j

The vector joining the ship to the rock is:

t = r + s

t = (1 i + 0 j) + (6 i + 5 j)

t = 7 i + 5 j

The bearing of the rock to the ship is:

Θ= \frac{ \pi}{2} - arctan (\frac{5}{7})= 0.9505 radians

a utility worker is 5.5 feet tall and is casting a shadow 4 feet long at the same time a nearby utility pole casts a shadow 20 f
Assoli18 [71]

So this is essentially a proportion problem. They want you to be able to recognize a relationship between the two. The easiest way to go about this is to draw a picture (I have included one). What you want to do is notice that you are given both shadow lengths. This is essentially going to be your first step to creating the proportion.

Understanding that we know the shadow lengths, we can turn these into a fraction such as so:

4ft/20ft.

Now that we know that, we need to look at are unknown. Our unknown is the height of the utility pole. We can solve this by substituting for X since we know the utility worker is 5.5 ft tall.

Your fraction for that would look like:

5.5ft/X

Make sure to always make your top to top match, such as since I put the utility worker's shadow on top, I need to put his height on top.

Now we can solve.

4ft/20ft =5.5ft/X

We need to cross multiply to get an equation we can work with. If we cross multiply, Your equation will look like:

4x = 110ft

This is a simple one step equation. Divide both sides by 4 to get your answer.

x= 27.5ft.

This means your Utility pole's height is 27.5ft.
