Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

When Jada took 8 steps, Noah took 10 steps

When Jada took 12 steps, Noah took 15 steps

a. The following table can be created as follows given that x = steps taken by Jada, and y = steps taken by Noah:

From the info given, the ratio of Noah's steps to Jada's steps is 15 : 12 = 10 : 8 = 5 : 4 = ⁵/4.

Use this ratio to create a table of 3 pairs of values as shown below.

Jada's Steps (x) ===> Noah's steps (y)

4 ===> 5

8 ==> 10

12 ==> 15

b. The graph of that shows this relationship has been attached below. Check the attachment.

c. Constant of proportionality can be calculated in each representation as follows: y/x = k. Where y is steps taken by Noah, x is for steps taken by Jada, and I is constant of proportionality.

Thus,

Constant of proportionality (k) = 15/12 = ⁵/4

This means, for every 5 steps taken by Noah, Jada takes 4 steps.

This relationship is represented by the equation, y = ⁵/4x.

The ⁵/4 in the equation is the constant of proportionality of their relationship.

d. The equation, description, graph, and table all represent the same situation because they all show the same constant of proportionality between x and y.

In the equation, ⁵/4 represents the constant of proportionality. In the graph, the slope is ⁵/4, which is also the same last constant of proportionality.

In the table, the constant of change in each pair is ⁵/4 all through.

F(x) = x2 - 4.<br> Find the inverse of the function
Lisa [10]

Answer:

f^{-1}(x) = √ x + 4

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1) replace f(x) with y

y = x² - 4

step 2) switch the x and y (because every (x, y) has a (y, x))

x = y² - 4

step 3) add 4 to both sides of the equal sign

x + 4 = y²

step 4) take the square root of both sides of the equal sign (the square root symbol cancels out the ²)

√ x + 4 = y

step 5) you know have the inverse of f(x) = x² - 4

f^{-1}(x) = √ x + 4

Question 5^ Need help ... ASAP ... your help is really appreciated ...
goblinko [34]

Answer:

See below

Step-by-step explanation:

I think we had a question similar to this before. Again, let's figure out the vertical and horizontal distances figured out. The distance from C at x=8 to D at x=-5 is 13 units while the distance from C at y=-2 to D at y=9 is 11 units. (8+5=13 and 2+9=11, even though some numbers are negative, we're looking at their value in those calculations)

Next, we have to divide each distance by 4 so we can apply it to the ratio. 13/4=\frac{13}{4} and 11/4=\frac{11}{4}. Next, we need to read the question carefully. It's asking us to place the point in the ratio <em>3</em> to <em>1</em> from <em>C</em> to <em>D</em>. The point has to be closer to endpoint D because of this. Let's take each of our fractions, multiply them by 3, then add them towards the direction of endpoint D to get our answer (sorry if that sounds confusing):

\frac{13}{4}*3 = \frac{39}{4}\\ 8-\frac{39}{4} =  \frac{-7}{4}\\\frac{11}{4}*3 = \frac{33}{4}  \\-2+\frac{33}{4} = \frac{25}{4}

Therefore, our point that partitions CD into a 3:1 ratio is (\frac{-7}{4}, \frac{25}{4}).

I'm not sure if there was more to #5 judging by how part B was cut off. From what I can understand of part B, however, I believe that Beatriz started from endpoint D and moved towards C, the wrong direction. She found the coordinates for a 1:3 ratio point.

Also, for #6, since a square is a 2-dimensional object, the answer needs to be written showing that. The answer for #6 is 9 units^2.

How can you write 72+(8+19) to make it easier to add
max2010maxim [7]
There's a key problem in this question compelling you to actually rewrite it like that! Mathematically that is inaccurate and incorrect. If you do 72(8+19) it seems as if you are going to do 8+19*72 as in algebra whatever is outside the bracket is bound to go multiplied so technically (8+19)+72 would make more sense and the answer is

Using bidmas do the brackets first

8+19= 27
27+72=99

Answer:

[See Below]

Step-by-step explanation:

__________________________

✦ Solve for (1*10)+(4*1)+(7*0.01)+(2*0.001):

__________________________

✦ Solve Parenthesis first:

  • (1*10)=\bold1\bold0
  • (4*1)=\bold4
  • (7*0.01)=\bold0\bold.\bold0\bold7
  • (2*0.001)=\bold0\bold.\bold0\bold0\bold2

__________________________

✦ Add all the values together:

  • 10+4+0.07+0.002=\bold1\bold4\bold.\bold0\bold7\bold2

So Mikayla wrote the decimal correctly.
