You shoot an arrow into the air. Two seconds later (2.00 s) the arrow has gone straight upward to a height of 35.0 m above its l
sdas [7]

This question can be solved by using the equations of motion.

a) The initial speed of the arrow is was "9.81 m/s".

b) It took the arrow "1.13 s" to reach a height of 17.5 m.

a)

We will use the second equation of motion to find out the initial speed of the arrow.

h= v_it + \frac{1}{2}gt^2\\

where,

vi = initial speed = ?

h = height = 35 m

t = time interval = 2 s

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s²

Therefore,

35\ m = (v_i)(2\ s)+\frac{1}{2}(9.81\ m/s^2)(2\ s)^2\\\\v_i(2\ s)=19.62\ m\\\\v_i = \frac{19.62\ m}{2\ s}

<u>vi =  9.81 m/s</u>

b)

To find the time taken by the arrow to reach 17.5 m, we will use the second equation of motion again.

h= v_it + \frac{1}{2}gt^2\\

where,

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s²

h = height = 17.5 m

vi = initial speed = 9.81 m/s

t = time = ?

Therefore,

17.5 = (9.81)t+\frac{1}{2}(9.81)t^2\\4.905t^2+9.81t-17.5=0

solving this quadratic equation using the quadratic formula, we get:

t = -3.13 s (OR) t = 1.13 s

Since time can not have a negative value.

Therefore,

<u>t = 1.13 s</u>

Besides, the discovery that moons orbit Jupiter, what other discovery made by Galileo Galilei, with an early telescope, proved t
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

He made great advancements in developing a logical way to know more about the universe and celestial entities inside the space. And this theory is termed to be heliocentric in nature.

Explanation:

  • In early times most of the people believed that our planet Earth is the center of the universe or the solar system and rest of the celestial entities move around it in a given path, so, it confused the well known scientist named as Galileo Galilei. As, he observed the different dark patches or shadow like textures on the face of the Sun.
  • While, it is more obvious to known that any object having multiple small shadows means that it is present inside such a region that all of the celestial entities move or orbit around it in a given way.So, he concluded that planet Earth itself move around the red Giant in a given way rather then being the center of the universe.

Which of these forces determines the chemical properties of an atom? friction force nuclear force gravitational force electrical
zysi [14]
The answers is an electrical force.
Under normal conditions, atoms interact with each other via electrons that are furthest away from the nucleus. These electrons from the what is called the outer shell of the atom, electrons from the outer shell that can participate in chemical reactions are called valence electrons.

When monochromatic light passes through the interface between two unknown materials at an angle θ where 0∘&lt;θ&lt;90∘, no chang
kirill115 [55]

Answer:

the correct one is the first,   the refractive index of the two materials must be the same

Explanation:

When a beam of light passes through two materials, it must comply with the law of refraction

         n₁ sin θ₁ = n₂ sin θ₂

where n₁ and n₂ are the refractive indices of each medium.

In this case, it indicates that the light does not change direction, so the input and output angle of the interface must be the same,

       θ₁ = θ₂ = θ

substituting

          n₁ = n₂

therefore the refractive index of the two materials must be the same

When reviewing the answers, the correct one is the first
