Answer:

= 1000 hours

Explanation:

Earth's circumference is 10⁴ mile

speed of a sailboat is 10¹ mile/hour

distance = speed × time

10⁴ = 10¹  × t

t = 10⁴ / 10¹

t = 10³

= 1000 hours

HELP A car traveling at 4m/s accelerates at a rate of .80m/s2 for 1.8s. What is its final velocity?
Semenov [28]

Answer:

148(m/s)

Explanation:

V_final = V_current + (acceleration) x (time)

            = 4 + 80 x 1.8 = 148 (m/s)

A student stands on the edge of a cliff that is 300 m high and kicks a rock horizontally. 7.8 seconds later, the rock hits the g
mart [117]

Answer:

6.65m/s

Explanation:

Using the equation of motion

S = ut + 1/2gt²

S is the height of fall

t is the time

u is the horizontal velocity

g is the acceleration due to gravity

Given

S = 300 + 50

S = 350m

t = 7.8seconds

g = 9.8m/s^2

Get S

S = 7.8u + 1/2(9.8)(7.8)²

S = 7.8u + 298.116

350 = 7.8u + 298.116

7.8u = 350 - 298.116

7.8u = 51.884

u = 51.884/7.8

u = 6.65m/s

Hence the rock's horizontal velocity was 6.65m/s

A man uses 560 J of work to push a shopping cart down an aisle that is 15 m long. How much force did he use?
dolphi86 [110]
You are given the 560 J of work of a man used while pushing a shopping cart down an aisle that is 15 m long. You re asked to find how much force he used. The equation is W = Fd where W is work, F is force and d is distance.

W = Fd
560J = F(15m)
F = 37.33 N
The answer is letter B.

Sayid made a chart listing data of two colliding objects.
Artemon [7]

Answer:

velocity of combined objects is 6 m/s

Explanation:

As per law of conservation of momentum

total momentum before collision = total momentum after collision

since the two objects sticks together after collision so we will have

m_1v_{1i} + m_2v_{2i} = (m_1 + m_2) v

Now plug in all values in it

300(10) + 100(-6) = (300 + 100) v

3000 - 600 = 400(v)

2400 = 400 v

v = 6 m/s

so the missing value in the table is velocity which is 6 m/s
