Why does a hot air balloon float?

Physics

The most accurate answer among the choices would be the fourth one, because if the weight of the air displaced is greater than the balloon's weight, the balloon will float upwards. Density of the air also plays a part. Hot air = less dense. Hope my answer has come to your help.

<h2>Right answer: The weight of the air displaced is less than the volume of the balloon</h2>

A hot air balloon is a cloth wrap that contains several thousand cubic meters of air inside (<u>a large volume of air</u>). The burner (which is the motor of the balloon and responsible for its elevation) heats the liquid propane to a gaseous state to generate a huge flame, thus heating the air mass inside the balloon. In this way, its density is modified with respect to the air that surrounds it, because the hot air is lighter than the outside air (less dense), causing the balloon to rise and float.

Now, if we know that the density of a body d is directly proportional to its mass m and inversely proportional to its volume V:

d=\frac{m}{V}

We can deduce that

<h2>by <u>increasing the volume</u> of the body, its density will <u>decrease</u>. </h2>

This is proof of Archimedes' Principle:

<em>A body totally or partially immersed in a fluid at rest, experiences a vertical upward thrust equal to the mass weight of the body volume that is displaced.</em>

In this case the fluid is the air outside. So, the warm air inside the balloon, being less dense, will weigh less than the outside air and therefore will receive an upward pushing force or thrust that will make the balloon ascend.

A uniform magnetic field is perpendicular to the plane of a circular loop of diameter 13 cm formed from wire of diameter 2.6 mm
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

Rate of change of magnetic field is 3.466\times 10^3T/sec

Explanation:

We have given diameter of the circular loop is 13 cm = 0.13 m

So radius of the circular loop r=\frac{0.13}{2}=0.065m

Length of the circular loop L=2\pi r=2\times 3.14\times 0.065=0.4082m

Wire is made up of diameter of 2.6 mm

So radius r=\frac{2.6}{2}=1.3mm=0.0013m

Cross sectional area of wire A=\pi r^2=3.14\times0.0013^2=5.30\times 10^{-6}m^2

Resistivity of wire \rho =2.18\times 10^{-8}m

Resistance of wire R=\frac{\rho L}{A}=\frac{2.18\times 10^{-8}\times 0.4082}{5.30\times 10^{-6}}=1.67\times 10^{-3}ohm

Current is given i = 11 A

So emf  e=11\times 1.67\times 10^{-3}=0.0183volt

Emf induced in the coil is e=-\frac{d\Phi }{dt}=-A\frac{dB}{dt}

0.0183=5.30\times 10^{-6}\times \frac{dB}{dt}

\frac{dB}{dt}=3.466\times 10^3=T/sec

Two vectors are presented as a=3.0i +5.0j and b=2.0i+4.0j find (a) a x b, ab (c) (a+b)b and (d) the component of a along the dir
Svet_ta [14]
Let's ask this question step by step:
 Part A)
 a x b = (3.0i + 5.0j) x (2.0i + 4.0j) = (12-10) k = 2k
 ab = (3.0i + 5.0j). (2.0i + 4.0j) = 6 + 20 = 26
 Part (c)
 (a + b) b = [(3.0i + 5.0j) + (2.0i + 4.0j)]. (2.0i + 4.0j)
 (a + b) b = (5.0i + 9.0j). (2.0i + 4.0j)
 (a + b) b = 10 + 36
 (a + b) b = 46
 Part (d)
 comp (ba) = (a.b) / lbl
 a.b = (3.0i + 5.0j). (2.0i + 4.0j) = 6 + 20 = 26
 lbl = root ((2.0) ^ 2 + (4.0) ^ 2) = root (20)
 comp (ba) = 26 / root (20)
 answer
 2k
 26
 46
 26 / root (20)

A. In one short sentence, explain why we call the force of gravity an attractive force.
kondor19780726 [428]

Answer:

Explanation:

(a) The force of gravity is called an attractive force because it is the force (although weak) in which a planetary body or matter uses to attract an object towards itself.

(b) Yes, it does and the formula for force of gravity between any two object is

F = G\frac{m1m2}{r}

where m1 and m2 are masses of the first and second object respectively

r is the distance between the center of the two masses

G is the gravitational constant
