The most accurate answer among the choices would be the fourth one, because if the weight of the air displaced is greater than the balloon's weight, the balloon will float upwards. Density of the air also plays a part. Hot air = less dense. Hope my answer has come to your help.

<h2>Right answer: The weight of the air displaced is less than the volume of the balloon</h2>

A hot air balloon is a cloth wrap that contains several thousand cubic meters of air inside (<u>a large volume of air</u>). The burner (which is the motor of the balloon and responsible for its elevation) heats the liquid propane to a gaseous state to generate a huge flame, thus heating the air mass inside the balloon. In this way, its density is modified with respect to the air that surrounds it, because the hot air is lighter than the outside air (less dense), causing the balloon to rise and float.

Now, if we know that the density of a body d is directly proportional to its mass m and inversely proportional to its volume V:

d=\frac{m}{V}

We can deduce that

<h2>by <u>increasing the volume</u> of the body, its density will <u>decrease</u>. </h2>

This is proof of Archimedes' Principle:

<em>A body totally or partially immersed in a fluid at rest, experiences a vertical upward thrust equal to the mass weight of the body volume that is displaced.</em>

In this case the fluid is the air outside. So, the warm air inside the balloon, being less dense, will weigh less than the outside air and therefore will receive an upward pushing force or thrust that will make the balloon ascend.

Carry out the following calculation. Express your answer in the correct number of significant figures.
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

43.1 g

Explanation:

Density, d is defined as the mass per unit volume of an object. Density is therefore expressed as

d=m/v

Here, m is mass and v is the volume

Making mass the subject of the formula

Mass, m=dv

The volume, v is given by

V=lwh

Substituting lwh for v in the equation for mass then mass, m=dlwh

Substituting 2.6 g/cm3 for d, 4.0 cm for l, 1.8 m for w and 2.3 for h then the mass of the block will be

M=2.6*4*1.8*2.3=43.056 g

Expressing it in 1 decimal place, mass is approximately 43.1 g

A given individual is unable to see objects clearly when he is beyond 60 cm. What power lens should be used to correct this prob
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

correct option is E

power lens is - 1.667 D

Explanation:

Given data

infinity = 60 cm

to find out

power lens

solution

we know here infinity v = -60 cm because object at infinity

and we take u  = - infinity

so we know that

1/f = 1/v - 1/u

1/f = 1 / -60  - 1 / -infinity

so

1/f = - 1/60

f = - 60 cm = 0.60 m

and we know power of lens = 1/f

so here

power = 1 / -0.60

power = - 1.667 D

so correct option is E

power lens is - 1.667 D
