Express each Rate as a Unit rate

Mathematics
1 answer:
s2008m [1.1K]4 years ago
4 0

1. Since 9 pages in 3 hours were read, we would find the greatest common factor (GCF) of both numbers, which is 3. So you do 9 divided by 3 (3) and 3 divided by 3 (1) which leaves you with the unit rate 3/1 or 3 pgs. p/ hr.

2. 20/4. The GCF of 20 and 4 is 4. So 20 divided by 4 is 5 and 4 divided by 4 is 1. Therefore leaving you with the unit rate 5/1 or 5 lb. p/ $.

3.  60/2. The GCF of 60 and 2 is 2. 60 divided by 2 is 30. 2 divided by 2 is 1. So the manatee can surface again in 30 seconds. 30/1 or 30 b. p/ sec.

Hope I helped! :)

You work for a dress makers and your boss sends you to the fabric store to buy yellow fabric. She tells you to buy the best deal
finlep [7]

Answer:

D) 35 yards for $90.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given four options and we are asked to choose the option that represents the best deal.

Let us find the cost of per yard cloth for our given choices.

A. \text{ Price offered by option A}=\frac{\$20}{5\text{ yards}}

\text{ Price offered by option A}=\frac{\$4}{\text{ yard}}

Therefore, option A offers $4 per yard of cloth.

B. \text{ Price offered by option B}=\frac{\$30}{10\text{ yards}}

\text{ Price offered by option B}=\frac{\$3}{\text{ yard}}

Therefore, option B offers $3 per yard of cloth.

C. \text{ Price offered by option C}=\frac{\$55}{20\text{ yards}}

\text{ Price offered by option C}=\frac{\$2.75}{\text{ yards}}

Therefore, option C offers $2.75 per yard of cloth.

D. \text{ Price offered by option D}=\frac{\$90}{35\text{ yards}}

\text{ Price offered by option D}=\frac{\$2.57}{\text{ yard}}

Therefore, option D offers $2.57 per yard of cloth.

Since price offered by option D is less than other option D is the best deal.

Honestly I can’t remember the last time I had to deal with arcs in school, but the answer to the second one is 63 because all triangles add up to 180 degrees and 46+71= 117. 180-117=63
