Jamie is explaining to her classmates that she conducted an experiment over the weekend to see if adding more eggs to a cupcake

recipe would affect the taste and texture of her cupcakes. She told her classmates that she noticed her cupcakes were moister and even taller. She said she measured each cupcake and the ones made with 3 eggs instead of two were 0.25-.05 centimeters taller than the ones with only 2 eggs. She also said that the ones with more eggs seemed to be a darker shade than the ones with fewer eggs. Jamie said the amount of eggs didn’t affect how many cupcakes she could make. She was only able to get 6 jumbo sized cupcakes with the recipe even if she added an extra egg. Question: List at least 2 qualitative and 2 quantitative observations that Jamie made in her experiment. (4 points)

Answer:

Qualitative: moister, taller, and darker shade.

Quantitative: 0.25-0.5 cm taller, how many cupcakes she could make.

Explanation:

Qualitative is observation based and Quantitative is mathematical based (i.e. measuring, etc.)

Answer:

2 qualitative observations are -

a) Cupcakes were moister

b) Cup cakes with more eggs were darker in shade than cupcakes with fewer eggs.

2 quantitative observations are -

a) Cup cakes with 3 eggs instead of two were 0.25-.05 centimeters taller

b) Cup cakes were taller

c) She got 6 jumbo sized cupcakes with the recipe even if she added an extra egg

Explanation:

Qualitative observations are those which cannot be defined numerically. There are mostly expression, choice and perception based

While quantitative observations are purely numerical observation having some sort of measured value. or the factors that can be measured in terms of numbers are also included in observation criteria such as long, weighted etc.

2 qualitative observations are -

a) Cupcakes were moister

b) Cup cakes with more eggs were darker in shade than cupcakes with fewer eggs.

2 quantitative observations are -

a) Cup cakes with 3 eggs instead of two were 0.25-.05 centimeters taller

b) Cup cakes were taller

c) She got 6 jumbo sized cupcakes with the recipe even if she added an extra egg

Which keystone species feed on other animals and prevent them from damaging the ecosystem?
Naddika [18.5K]

D. Predators

Predators keep populations of other species in check. This was pretty clearly demonstrated in Yellowstone National Park after the wolves were eradicated there. The deer populations increased to the point that the aspen trees nearly disappeared due to the saplings' being eaten by deer. Since the reintroduction of wolves to the park, the aspen trees have begun to flourish once again.

Genrish500 [490]

This injury is fatal because, The phrenic nerve regulates breathing and operates the diaphragm.

Explanation:

The motor ability is provided by the Nerve called Phrenic nerve to the diaphragm. This is a muscle that is very important for the respiration to take place in human. When a damage or injury occurs to the Phrenic nerve, it may result in the paralysis of diaphragm.

When this is damages there may be difficulties in breathing and only small amount of air can be inhaled. Thus the paralysis of this nerve results in the prevention of the victim to find difficulties in respiration. Thus, the example given is fatal because, the phrenic nerve regulates breathing and operates the diaphragm.
