Power is just the RATE of work.

Power = (amount of work done)/(time to do it).

In physics<span>, a </span>force<span> is said to do </span>work<span> if, when acting, there is a </span>displacement<span> of the point of application in the direction of the force. For example, when a ball is held above the ground and then dropped, the work done on the ball as it falls is equal to the weight of the ball (a force) multiplied by the distance to the ground (a displacement).
power= work over time
the more power you put into your work the less time it will take, if you have less power the more time</span>

Two polarizers A and B are aligned so that their transmission axes are vertical and horizontal, respectively. A third polarizer
Reptile [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the angle between the first polariser and the second polariser axis is θ.

By using of law of Malus

(a)

Let the intensity of light coming out from the first polariser is I'

I' = I_{0}Cos^{2}\theta     .... (1)

Now the angle between the transmission axis of the second and the third polariser is 90 - θ. Let the intensity of light coming out from the third polariser is I''.

By the law of Malus

I'' = I'Cos^{2}\left ( 90-\theta \right )

So,

I'' = I_{0}Cos^{2}\theta Cos^{2}\left ( 90-\theta \right )

I'' = I_{0}Cos^{2}\theta Sin^{2}\theta

I'' = \frac{I_{0}}{4}Sin^{2}2\theta

(b)

Now differentiate with respect to θ.

I'' = \frac{I_{0}}{4}\times 2 \times 2 \times Sin2\theta \times Cos 2\theta

I'' = \frac{I_{0}}{2}\times Sin 4\theta

a lead block drops its temperature by 5.90 degrees celsius when 427 J of heat are removed from it. what is the mass of the block
Airida [17]

Answer:

577g

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Temperature change = 5.9°C

Amount of heat lost = 427J

Unknown:

Mass of the block = ?

Solution:

The heat capacity of a body is the amount of heat required to change the temperature of that body by 1°C.

                H =  m c Ф

  H is the heat capacity

 m  is the mass of the block

  c is the specific heat capacity

   Ф is the temperature change

Specific heat capacity of lead is 0.126J/g°C

   m = H / m Ф

   m = \frac{427}{0.126 x 5.9}  = 577g

Mass of the lead block is 577g

Choose the correct statement concerning units of power or energy. a. A kilojoule (kJ) is a unit of power. b. A gigawatt (GW) is
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

A kilowatt (kW) is a unit of power.

Explanation:

The power of an object is given by :

P=\dfrac{E}{t}

Here,

E is the energy required

t is time

The SI unit of power is Watts and the SI unit of energy is Joule. the commercial unit of energy is kilowatt per hour.

Option (1) :  A kilojoule (kJ) is a unit of power is incorrect.

Option (2) : A gigawatt (GW) is a unit of energy is incorrect.

Option (3) : A watt (W) is a unit of energy is incorrect.

Option (4) : A kilowatt x hour per year (kWh/yr) is a unit of energy is incorrect.

Option (4) : A kilowatt (kW) is a unit of power is correct.

Hence, the correct option is (d).
