Which substance form a homogenous mixture when mixed with water?

Physics

Explanation:

A mixture in which solute particles will completely dissolve in a uniform composition throughout the solution is known as a homogeneous mixture.

For example, when salt (NaCl) is dissolved in water then it completely dissolves throughout the given volume of water.

When particles of a solute are microscopically dispersed in a dispersion medium then it is known as collide. For example, milk is a collide.

A heterogeneous mixture is a mixture in which solute particles do not dissolve in a solvent and they are non-uniformly distributed in the solution.

For example, mud, cement, iron fillings in water will all form a heterogeneous solution.

When solute particles due to their large size do not dissolve in the solvent then this type of solution is known as suspension. For example, vinegar in water is a suspension.

Thus, we can conclude that salt is the substance that form a homogenous mixture when mixed with water.

Corn oil is homogeneous, Whitevinegar is homogeneous. A sugar solution is homogeneous since only a colorless liquid is observed. Air with no clouds is homogeneous. ... A solution is a mixture of two or more substances in a single phase.

A box is 4 m in the air and has 120 J of potential energy. What is the box's mass
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

Mass of the box is 3.06 kg

Explanation:

Potential energy (that depends on gravity) is the type of energy which is stored that relies on the general position of different parts of a body. It is a property of a framework and not of an individual body or molecule; the framework made out of the Earth and the raised ball.

P.E = m.g.h                       Equation(1)

as we have to find the mass of the box then the formula for the mass will become

m=P.E/g(h)                      Equation(2)

as we know

P.E= 120J

h=4m

g=9.8m/s

g is the gravitational acceleration

putting values in the equation(2)

m = 120/9.8(4)

    = 120/39.2

    = 3.06 kg

mass of the box is 3.06 kg

a rocket with a mass of 4kg accelerates up from the ground at a rate of 20ft m/s^2, what is the drag force acting on the rocket
Maru [420]

The drag force acting on the rocket is 80N.

Give an explanation of drag force?

The divergence in velocity between the fluid and the item, also known as drag, exerts a force on it. Between the liquid and the solid object, there should be motion. Drag is absent in the absence of motion.

The air molecules are more compressed (pushed together) on the surfaces that are facing the front while being more dispersed (spread out) on the surfaces facing the back. Turbulent flow, which occurs when air layers split from the surface and start to swirl, is what causes this.

The drag force acting on the rocket F = ma

Given,

m = 4kg, a = 20ftm/s²

Substituting m and a values in the above formula,

The drag force acting on the rocket F = 4×20

The drag force acting on the rocket F = 80N.

A 25.0-gram bullet enters a 2.25-kg watermelon with a speed of 220 m/s and exits the opposite side with a speed of 110 m/s. If t
umka21 [38]

Answer:

3.67 m/s

Explanation:

From the law of conservation of momentum,

Total momentum before collision = Total momentum after collision.

mu+m'u' = mv+m'v'............................... Equation 1

Where m = mass of the bullet, m' = mass of the watermelon, u = initial velocity of the bullet, u' = initial velocity of the watermelon, v = final velocity of the bullet, v' = final velocity of the watermelon.

make v' the subject of the equation,

v' = (mu+m'u'-mv)/m'....................... Equation 2

Given: m = 25 g = 0.025 kg, u = 220 m/s, m' = 2.25 kg, u' = 0 m/s ( at rest), v = 110 m/s.

Substitute into equation 2

v' =[ (0.025×220) +(2.25×0)+(0.025×110)]/2.25

v' = 3.67 m/s.

Hence the velocity of the watermelon = 3.67 m/s
