Answer:

Critical angle , c =sin^-1(1/n) and refractive index (n) = 1.5 proved.

Explanation:

We have to explain critical angle and refractive index.

(a).

(i).

Critical angle (c) :

An angle of incidence,whenever a light ray passes through denser medium to rarer at which the angle of refraction to the rarer side is 90 degrees.

Rarer medium:

Where the speed of light is more comparatively.

Formula:

In terms of refractive index (n).

⇒ c=sin^-^1(\frac{1}{n} )

Here the shoe lace is the denser medium and light going out of this plastic shoe laces to air will have a critical angle at the boundary of the two media (plastic-air) if and only if the angle if refraction is 90 degree.

(ii).

Refractive index (n) :

Is the ratio of speed of light in vacuum (c) to tat of speed of the light in medium (v).

⇒ And c = 3\times 10^8 m/s

⇒ n=\frac{c}{v}

⇒ n=\frac{3\times 10^8}{v}

⇒ n=\frac{3\times 10^8}{1.97\times 10^8}    ...speed of light in plastic,v = 1.97\times 10^8\ ms^-^1

⇒ n=1.5

As mentioned the refractive index = 1.5

Refractive index is dimensionless quantity.

A force did 80 j of work on an object in 4 m how big was the force
yanalaym [24]

Work = (force) x (distance)

80 J = (force) x (4 m)

Force = (80 J) / (4 m)  =  20 N

That's IF the force was in the same direction as the 4m of motion.
If the force was kind of slanted, then it had to be stronger, and
it had a component of 20N in the direction of the motion.

If you walk 1.2 km north and then 1.6 km east, what are the magnitude and direction of your resultant displacement?
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

B

Assume north and east as two sides of a right angled triangle. magnitude of the distance is then given by the length of the hypotenuse which is \sqrt{a^2 + b^2}

where a = 1.2 km north

and b = 1.6 km east

magnitude = 2 km

Direction is given by the angle between them, that is atan(a/b) = 36.86 deg north of east = 53.1 deg east of north.

Why do the planets appear in different locations in the night sky while the pattern of stars in a constellation stays the same?
Goshia [24]
I'm sure you've noticed that an airplane high in the sky, far away
from you, looks like it's moving very slowly. At the same time,
somebody passing you on a skateboard whizzes past you at
high speed. The farther away something is from you, the slower
it appears to move.

The nearest star outside the solar system is almost 32 thousand times
as far away from us as the farthest visible planet (Saturn) is, and all of the
other stars are farther than that.

That's why you have to wait a few thousand years before you notice
that the shape of a constellation has changed.

To put it a slightly different way . . . Everything is in motion. The motion is
more noticeable for nearby things, and less noticeable for farther-away things.
Objects within our solar system are the only ones near enough so that a human
lifetime is a long enough period in which to notice the change in their position.
Even Pluto moves less then 1.5° against the 'background' stars in a whole year.

This all makes me feel small. How about you ?
