The focus of an earthquake is internal and is harder to record than the waves of an epicenter, which are on the surface.

A 0.050 kg bullet strikes a 5.0 kg wooden block with a velocity of 909 m/s and embeds itself in the block which fies off its sta
serg [7]

Answer:

The final velocity of the bullet is 9 m/s.

Explanation:

We have,

Mass of a bullet is, m = 0.05 kg

Mass of wooden block is, M = 5 kg

Initial speed of bullet, v = 909 m/s

The bullet embeds itself in the block which flies off its stand. Let V is the final velocity of the bullet. The this case, momentum of the system remains conserved. So,

mv=(m+M)V\\\\V=\dfrac{mv}{m+M}\\\\V=\dfrac{0.05\times 909}{0.050+5}\\\\V=9\ m/s

So, the final velocity of the bullet is 9 m/s.

What do the subscript in the formula for ethane repersent
Karolina [17]
The formula for ethane is C2H6. (the 2 and 6 are supposed to be subscripts) they show the number of atoms per element. So there are two carbon atoms and six hydrogen atoms in ethane. The subscript in a chemical formula represents the amount of that atom in that compound's formula. In chemistry, no subscript indicates 1 of that particular atom. HCl contains 1 atom of hydrogen and 1 atom of chlorine, whereas H20 contains 2 atoms of hydrogen and 1 atom of oxygen. It should be noted, however that this does not necessarily hold true for empiracle formulas, since these have been reduced to the simplest whole number ratio and do not necessarily reflect the number of each element present in an actual molecule.

I hope this helps you! Good luck :)

A 31.0 kW electric motor drives a vehicle at an average velocity of 9.20 m/s. Assuming a constant force is applied in the direct
babunello [35]

The magnitude of the applied force is 3369.57 N.

What is Force?

Force can be defined as the product of mass and acceleration.

To calculate the magnitude of the applied force, we use the formula below.

Formula:

 • P = Fv................ Equation 1

Where:

 • P = Power of the electric motor
 • F = Applied force
 • v = Velocity

Make F the subject of the equation

 • F = P/v................. Equation 2

From the question.

Given:

 • P = 31 kW = 31000 W
 • v = 9.2 m/s

Substitute these values into equation 2

 • F = 31000/9.2
 • F = 3369.57 N

Hence, the magnitude of the applied force is 3369.57 N.

A cart is pushed to the right with a force of 15 N while being pulled to the left with a force of 20 N. The net force on the car
9966 [12]

The net force of the cart when it is pushed to the right with a force of 15N.

Explanation:

To find the force of net, which is calculated by the formula.

The Net Force= Addition of the force applied on the respective direction.

The Net Force here is given by

The Net Force = 15-20 (A force towards the right and a force towards left, two opposite so subtraction).

Hence

Thus the Net Force = -5(The force towards left, so it gets a negative value).
