Answer :

  • Carbonyl group : It is a functional group composed of a carbon atom that double bonded to oxygen atom. It is represented as C=O

Carboxylic group : It is the class of organic compound in which the carboxylic (-COOH) group is attached to a hydrocarbon is known as carboxylic.

The general formula of carboxylic is, C_nH_{2n+1}COOH. According to the IUPAC naming, the carboxylic are named as alkanoic acids.

Aldehyde group : It is the class of organic compound in which the (-CHO) group is attached to a hydrocarbon is known as aldehyde.

The general representation of aldehyde is, R-CHO. According to the IUPAC naming, the aldehyde are named as alkanals.

Ketone group : It is the class of organic compound in which the (-CO) group is directly attached to the two alkyl group of carbon is known as ketone.

The general representation of ketone is, R-CO-R^'. According to the IUPAC naming, the ketone are named as alkanone.

Ester group : It is the class of organic compound in which the (-COO) group is directly attached to the two alkyl group of carbon is known as ester.

The general representation of ester is, R-COO-R^'. According to the IUPAC naming, the ester are named as alkyl alkanoate.

Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

The correct answer is option E.

Explanation:

Structures for the reactants and products are given in an aimage ;

Number of double bonds in oxygen gas molecule = 1

Number of double bonds in nitro dioxide gas molecule = 1

Number of single bond in in nitro dioxide gas molecule = 1

Number of triple bonds in nitrogen gas molecule = 1

N_2+2O_2\rightarrow 2NO_2,\Delta H=?

\Delta H=[2 mol\times \Delta H_{f,NO_2}]-[1 mol\times \Delta H_{f,N_2}-2 mol\times \Delta H_{f,O_2}]

\Delta H_{f,NO_2}=33.18 kJ/mol

\Delta H_{f,N_2}=0 (pure element)

\Delta H_{f,O_2}=0 (pure element )

\Delta H=2 mol\times 33.18 kJ/mol=66.36kJ=15.86 kcal

The enthalpy of the given reaction is 15.86 kcal.

Rotation about a carbon-carbon double bond does not readily occur because: __________.1) the overlap of the p orbitals of the ca
Advocard [28]

Answer:

1) The overlap of the p orbitals of the carbon-carbon π bond would be lost

Explanation:

Unlike simple bonds, a double bond can not rotate, since it is not possible to twist the ends of the molecule without breaking the π bond.

In the structure of but-2-ene present in the attachment, we can see the two isomers, <em>cis</em> and<em> trans</em>. These isomers cannot be interconverted by rotation around the carbon-carbon double bond without breaking the π bond.
