A)
have five toes that allow them to walk well on soft ground.

B)
are herbivores instead of carnivores like their early ancestors.

C)
are taller with long legs and are capable of great speed to escape predators.

D)
have gradually grown larger, but show no major changes from the early ancestors.

Answer:

Option (C)

Explanation:

The horse has undergone a straight-line evolution, originating from the Eohippus (about 50 million years back) to the present day horse. The early ancestor of the horse had short legs and mainly lived within the woods and was only able to graze. They were not able to run faster. But, over the course of time, the earth has gone various changes in its landforms, as a result of which the forest areas were transformed into the open grasslands with abundant grasses upon which they were mainly dependent on. This enabled them to undergo changes in their morphological characteristics and led to the formation of the modern-day horse, where their height and legs have increased and they are now able to run at a faster speed thereby being able to protect themselves from the predators.

Thus, the correct answer is an option (C).

Iron(III) oxide is formed when iron combines with oxygen in the air. How many grams of Fe2O3 are formed when 33.4 g of Fe reacts
konstantin123 [22]

The grams of Fe₂O₃ that are formed is 47.68 g

calculation

Step 1: write the equation for reaction

4 Fe +3O₂ → 2 Fe₂O₃

Step 2: find the moles of Fe

moles = mass÷  molar mass

= 33.4 g÷55.8 g/mol =0.5986 moles

Step 3 : use the mole ratio to determine the moles of Fe₂O₃

That is from equation above Fe:Fe₂O₃ is 4:2 therefore the moles of Fe₂O₃ is = 0.5986 moles x 2/4 =0.2993 moles

Step 4 : find the mass of Fe₂O₃

mass = mass x molar mass

The molar mass of Fe₂O₃ = (55.8 x 2 +(15.9 x3) = 159.3 g/mol

mass is therefore = 0.2993 moles x 159.3 g/mol =47.68 g

Identify the electronegative element in each of the molecules:
faust18 [17]
Electronegativity means how strongly an atom can attract electrons. The more positive charge an atom has, the better it attracts the negatively charged electrons. However, distance is a factor too, so if the nucleus (where the protons are) starts becoming too large, the strength of the positive charge isn't as large as it would otherwise be.

Basically this means that fluorine is the most electronegative element since it has the most positive charge for its relative size. Elements closer to fluorine have higher electronegativities than elements further from it on the periodic table.

so in other words F is most electro, bc it attracts more electrons to its atom making other atoms Positive
