The complete question in the attached figure
we have
[(x²-x-6)/x²]=[(x-6)/2x]+[(2x+12)/x]

we know that
the LCD (the least common denominator) for the given equation is -----> 2x²

step 1
multiply each term by this factor
2x²*[(x²-x-6)/x²]=2x²*[(x-6)/2x]+2x²*[(2x+12)/x]

2*[(x²-x-6)]=x*[(x-6)]+2x*[(2x+12)]
[(2x²-2x-12)]=[(x²-6x)]+[(4x²+24x)]
[(2x²-2x-12)]-[(x²-6x)]-[(4x²+24x)]=0
2x²-2x-12-x²+6x-4x²-24x=0
2x²-x²-4x²-2x+6x-24x-12=0
-3x²-20x-12=0
multiply by -1 the entire equation
3x²+20x+12=0

the answer is
3x²+20x+12=0

Please explain solution
vodka [1.7K]

Answer:

(4,-2)

Step-by-step explanation:

The reason why it's 4,-2 is because 5 which is the x value is subtracted by 1 since its translated 1 unit to the left, and the -2 which is the y-value is translated 4 units down which means you subtract 2 by 4. Pro tip: when translating the x-value left you subtract and if you translate it to the right you add. If you translate the y-value down you subtract and if you move it up you add.

What is the total number of digits required in numbering the pages of a book, which has 1,724 pages?
Vikentia [17]

The total number of digits required in numbering the pages of a book, which has 1,724 pages are 5,789.

Step-by-step explanation:

The total pages = 1,724

Now, to find the total digits, lets break down the pages.

1,724 is made up of

  • 9 one digit numbers (1-9) = 9 x 1 = 9 digits
  • 90 two digit numbers (10-99) = 90 x 2 = 180 digits
  • 900 three digit numbers (100-999) = 900 x 3 = 2700 digits
  • 725 four digit numbers (1000-1724) = 725 x 4 = 2900 digits

Now, lets add the digits.

9 + 180 + 2700 + 2900 = 5,789

Hence, the total number of digits required in numbering the pages of a book, which has 1,724 pages are 5,789.

According to the Fiji Diabetes Association, 23.1% of Fijians aged 60 years or older had diabetes in 2017. A recent random sample
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

The point estimated is 0.260

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation is shown below:

Sample in which the people have diabetes = 52

Random sample = 200

Significance level = 5%

Based on this, the, estimation point is

= Sample in which the people have diabetes ÷ Random sample

= 52 ÷ 200

= 0.260

hence, the point estimated is 0.260

We simply applied the above formula

And, the same is to be considered

What is the inverse of [tex] x^{2} -2?
Mnenie [13.5K]
Assuming you want the inverse of f(x)=x²-2,

f(x)=x²-2
repalce f(x) with y
y=x²-2
switch x and y
x=y²-2
solve for y
x=y²-2
x+2=y²
√(x+2)=y
replace y with f⁻¹(x)
f⁻¹(x)=√(x+2)

the inverse is √(x+2)

If f(x) = 3x^2-10x+2 find the vertex of y=f(x+4)-5
allochka39001 [22]

3 {(4 + x)}^{2} - 10(x + 4) + 2 - 5
so
3( {x}^{2} + 8x + 16) - 10x - 40 + 3
so
3 {x}^{2} + 14x + 11
take differential calculus
6x + 14 = 0
you will find x then y
