2. Ms. Groves has trays of paints for students in her
olga55 [171]

Answer:

Each tray has 5 colours and one of the colour on the tray is purple. Hence 1/5 of the colours on the tray is purple and thus 1/5 of the colours on the 20 trays is purple. The fraction of colours on the trays will not change. If written out logically, 20 purples out of 100 colours in total on the trays will also given the fraction 1/5.

Roman55 [17]

Answer:

|answer| \\ 1)0=0 \\ 2)0=28

3)The example equation becomes "x + 10 - 15x = 20," which is then "-14 x + 10 = 20." Subtract 10 from each side, divide by 14 and you have end up with x = -10/14, which simplifies to x = -5/7. Plug in the x value in to the first equation to find out the y value. y = 2 - 3(-5/7) becomes 2 + 15/7, which is 29/7.

MrMuchimi
Hello,

If 1 black shoe is selected from a bin of 6 black shoes and 4 brown shoes and not replaced, then there are 5 black shoes and 4 brown shoes remaining. To find the probability that the a black shoe will be selected out of 5 black shoes and 4 brown shoes, we divide the number of black shoes over the total number of shoes (Each selection of a shoe is independent).

Doing this, we get 5 / (5+4) = 5/9 ≈ 0.55
The probability that a second shoe selected will be black is 0.55.

Hope this helps!
