Parents can encourage equal power relations in a family setup through helping their children to express themselves regardless of their desires and wishes. This means that their children will be able to have their own standpoint as well as their own personality which will make them strong individuals.

They can also teach children how to treat others as equals.

They can also treat their whole household as a democratic space where each has the same right.
