When the body releases glucagon, The effect is a...?
sp2606 [1]

\huge{ \bf{ \underline{ \underline{ \blue{Your \: answer:}}}}}

When body releases Glycagon, It <u>increases the blood sugar/glucose levels.</u>(Option B)

The Alpha cells of the Pancreas secretes the hormone named Glucagon. It increases the blood sugar levels. If levels of blood glucose gets low, then α-cells secretes low glucagon. This can be treated with exercise and a protein diet which stimulates the secretion of glucagon.

  • This hormones fits into receptor sites on cells membranes and activates the enzyme inside the cell which convert glucagon to glucose.
  • The glucose then passes out of the cells and into the blood, raising blood sugar levels.

✒ Other than this hormone, the beta cells secretes the insulin hormone and delta cells secrete the growth inhibiting hormone (GHIH-somatostatin).
