5 and a half gallons of punch would be left over because 1 gallon equals 16 cups and 16x8=128 cups and since their are 20 guest and each would have about 2 cups 20x2 equal 40 cups and 128-40 is 88 cups and 88 divided by 16(16 cups=1 gallon) is 5.5
