Answer:

65536 cells

Explanation:

starting from 1 cell at zero minutes  there will be 1 (2^0) cell; 2^0 = 1

after 15 minutes                    there will be 2 (2^1) cells

after another 15 minutes ( 30 min)        there will be 4 ( 2²) cells

after another 15 minutes ( 45 min)         there will be 8 (2³) cells

after n number of 15 minutes                  there will be (2^n) cells

calculate number of 15 minutes in 4 hours

4 hours = 4 × 60 minutes

number ( n) of 15 minutes in 4 hours = (4 × 60 minutes) / 15 minute = 16

using the formula above and substitute 16 for n in the formula

Number of cells = 2 ^n = 2^16 = 65536 cells

Scientists use a system called binomial nomenclature to classify organisms. For example, the goldfish is known as Carassius aura
stepan [7]

The correct answer is: d. Carassius is a group of different organisms with similar structures, while auratus is a smaller group of memebers that can only breed with another auratus.

Carassius represents the name of genus. In binomial nomenclature it is the generic name shared by the group of close relatives. In this case, Carassius is a genus in the family of ray-finned fishes.

Auratus represents the species of the fish and it is specific unique epithet within the genus.

a male guinea pig is homozygous dominant for hair texture and hair length. A female guinea pig is heterozygous for hair texture
nekit [7.7K]

If we talk about guinea pigs, the trait of hair length is controlled by a gene with two alleles.

Allele for short hair (S) is dominant on the allele for the long hair (s).

The texture of hair texture  is controlled by a gene with two alleles. It can be rough or smooth, and the allele for rough hair (R) is dominant on allele for smooth hair (r).

Now coming towards the question:

  • A female guinea pig is heterozygous for hair texture and homozygous recessive for hair length.

Phenotype of the female will be Rough and long hair.

  • A male guinea pig is homozygous dominant for hair texture and hair length.

Phenotype of the male will be Rough and short hair.

Hope it help!
