Capillaries are the smallest blood vessels. They are made up of only one layer of epithelial cells. The way blood circulates is that:

1. The heart pumps blood to the arteries.
2. The capillaries take it on from there. Materials are exchanged between the blood and the cells in the capillaries
3. The veins take the blood back to the heart, and the whole process starts over again.

You are a molecule of water. Choose a starting
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

In water cycle, water evaporates from the sea and oceans in the form of water vapors due to the radiation of the sun. This evaporation in the ocean is the starting point of water cycle.

Explanation:

Water cycle is also called hydrological cycle. In this cycle , water evaporates from water bodies such as rivers, seas, ponds and oceans etc. Water is also evaporated from plant bodies in the process of both evaporation and transpiration. This water moves in the form of vapors and forms clouds. These clouds moves to the land and fall on the earth surface in the form of rainfall and snowfall. From there, this water moves to the oceans through lakes and rivers and repeat the cycle again.

Fat-soluble hormones pass through the cell membrane easily. Such hormones are referred to as _________________.
anastassius [24]

Answer:

Steroid hormones

Explanation:

Steroid hormones are the second largest groups of hormones. They are made up of small cholestrol units and are fat soluble, therefore they can pass easily through cell membranes.

Function:

They have roles in many vital functions of our body such as salt and water balance, formation of sexual traits, immunity related functions, metabolism and improving health by withstanding injuries.

Mode of action:

  • Steroids being hormones can effect the processes of body in two ways: They affect the transcription of genes involved in synthesis of certain proteins- this is called genomic level action.
  • They can affect by binding with specific membrane receptors like G-proteins, Ion channels and transporters- non genomic level function. Through these ways, they can affect many mechanisms occurring inside the cell.

Hope it helps!
