You are a therapist for a depression support group and do brief screening intakes over the phone for people who call in asking a

bout the group. You return a message, introduce yourself by your first name, and do a brief intake with a woman over the phone. As you are ending the conversation, you realize that you know this person from your place of employment. She works in a support capacity to the clinical staff; and on one or two occasions has typed progress notes for you. The next day at work, it seems that she did not realize she was speaking to you on the phone. You are fairly certain she will show up at the group the next evening. What do you do? What are the ethical considerations in this case?

Answer:

You should treat her as a patient and a normal person, as you should treat any patient. Do not let personal connections get in the way of a professional mental disorder situation. Treat her with care and as a patient. At work play your role as coworker, and in the group play the role as caregiver.

Discuss the relationship between obesity and other health conditions that lead to cardiovascular disease, including the interact
Fudgin [204]
-Obesity = more volume (fat) that must be supplied blood —> extra pressure on your heart to push blood further —> thickening of heart muscle

-Obesity is mostly caused by eating unhealthy foods whose main detriment to cardiovascular health is that these foods can turn into plaque that build up in the artieries in your heart (atherosclerosis; this usually is the cause of coronary artery disease)

-Another common health condition that can affect your cardiovascular health is a high salt diet. Since salt encourages the retaining of water in your blood, it increases the volume in your blood vessels, stretching them in much wider diameters than they would normally be able to handle
This in turn damages the inside of those blood vessels, and the tissue under the inside of the blood vessels likes to pick up chloesterol, which sticks to cholesterol, which can lead to blockages of plaque inside those arteries, potentially leading to the complete blockage of the artery. If this occurs in the heart, in can cause heart attack, as the heart will not receive enough oxygen from blocked blood flow and the heart cells will begin to die.
