The equation:                           6s - 10  =  s

Add  10  to each side:             6s         =  s  +  10

Subtract 's' from each side:    5s         =          10

Divide each side by  5 :            s          =            2

A ball is shot from a cannon into the air. The equation that's gives the height (h) of the ball of any time (t) is: h(t)= -16t^2
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer:

26.5 units

Step-by-step explanation:

The height of the ball at any time t is given by :

h(t)= -16t^2 + 40t + 1.5 ...(1)

We need to find the maximum height of the ball.

For maximum height, put \dfrac{dh}{dt}=0

i.e.

\dfrac{d( -16t^2 + 40t + 1.5)}{dt}=0\\\\-32t+40=0\\\\t=\dfrac{40}{32}\\\\t=1.25\ s

Put t = 1.25 in equation (1) to find the maximum height.

So,

h(t)= -16(1.25)^2 + 40(1.25) + 1.5\\\\=26.5\ units

So, the maximum height reached by the ball is 26.5 units.

Needing help, the secretary of the united states department of agriculture asked your teacher, "if a chicken-and-a-half can lay
Flura [38]

we are given that

3 chickens to lay 32 eggs

now, we can find number of eggs per chicken

number of eggs per chicken= (total eggs)/(total chicken)

so, we get

number of eggs per chicken is

=\frac{32}{3}

now, we can set up following

1.5 chicken : 1.5 eggs : 1.5 days

3 chickens : 3 eggs : 1.5 days

1 chicken : 1 egg : 1.5 days

Since, changing number of chicken won't affect time

time to lay eggs will always remain same

so,

for 1 chicken to lay =\frac{32}{3} eggs

it takes

=\frac{32}{3}*1.5 days

=16 days..............Answer
