The  ratio of  effusion   of   rates of  oxygen  (O2)   to Hydrogen (H2)  is   calculated  as  follows

rate  of  O2/  rate of H2  =  square root  of   molar  mass  of  H2/molar  mass of O2

=  square  root  =  2 /32  = 0.25

Answer:

0.251

Explanation:

According to the Graham's law, the rate of effusion of a gas (r) is inversely proportional to the square root of its molar mass (M). The ratio of effusion rates of oxygen (O₂) to hydrogen (H₂) is:

\frac{rO_{2}}{rH_{2}} =\sqrt{\frac{M(H_{2})}{M(O_{2})}} =\sqrt{\frac{2.02g/mol}{32.00g/mol}} =0.251

Is the following true or false every element in the periodic table follows the aufbau principle
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

It is true that every element in the periodic table follows the Aufbau's principle.

The principle states that "the sublevels with lower energies are filled up before those with higher energies".

  • Sublevels do not fill up in numerical order.
  • This is true when writing the electronic configuration of all atoms on the periodic table.

In an experiment, 132 grams of potassium bromide (KNO3) was dissolved in 100 grams of water at 70 °C in 1 minute. Which of the f
pishuonlain [190]
Answer: <span>A fewer number of particles of the sample will dissolve in 1 minute.

That is because normally the solubility and rate of solubility of the salts in water increase with the temperature. This is, the higher the temperature the higher and faster the number of particles that the water can dissolve. So, at 70°C more particles will be dissolved in water in 1 minute than at 20°C.

The molar mass of a certain gas is 49 g. What is the density of the gas in g/L at STP?
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

\boxed{\text{2.2 g/L}}

Explanation:

We can use the Ideal Gas Law to calculate the density of the gas.

   pV = nRT

      n = m/M           Substitute for n

   pV = (m/M)RT     Multiply both sides by M

pVM = mRT            Divide both sides by V

  pM = (m/V) RT

     ρ = m/V             Substitute for m/V

 pM = ρRT              Divide each side by RT

\rho = \frac{pM }{RT}

Data:

p = 1.00 bar

M = 49 g/mol

R = 0.083 14 bar·L·K⁻¹mol⁻¹

T = 0 °C = 273.15 K

Calculation:

ρ = (1.00 × 49)/(0.083 14 × 273.15) = 2.2 g/L

The density of the gas is \boxed{\text{2.2 g/L}}.
