While sitting in your car by the side of a country road, you see your friend, who happens to have an identical car with an ident

ical horn, approaching you. You blow your horn, which has a frequency of 260 Hz; your friend begins to blow his horn as well, and you hear a beat frequency of 6.0Hz .
How fast is your friend approaching you?

Answer:

         v_s =7.74\ m/s

Explanation:

given,

Speed of sound = 343 m/s

frequency of horn = 260 Hz

the friend is approaching, the frequency is increased by the Doppler Effect. The frequency is 266 Hz

using formula

         f' = \dfrac{v}{v-v_s}f_0

         266= \dfrac{343}{343 - v_s}(260)

         1.023= \dfrac{343}{343 - v_s}

         343 - v_s = 335.26

         v_s =7.74\ m/s

the speed of friends approaching is equal to v_s =7.74\ m/s

notka56 [123]

Answer:

l3/l = 2

Explanation:

Suppose B1 is the magnetic field due to cable 1 and B2 is the field due to cable 2. Therefore, the magnitude of the field at a distance from the cable is equal to:

B = (uo*I)/(2*pi*r)

B1-2 = (B1^2 + B2^2)^1/2 = ((((uo*I)/(2*pi*r)^2 + (uo*I)/(2*pi*r)^2))))))^1/2 = (2^1/2)*(uo*l)/(2*pi*r)

From this equation we can say that the direction of the field will be from the corner that is empty and cable 3:

B3 = B1-2

(uo*l3)/(2*pi*(2^1/2)*r = (2^1/2)*(uo*l)/(2*pi*r)

From here we have that the relationship between both currents will be equal to:

l3/l = 2
