Answer: B: Control of the Mississippi river.

Explanation: They did not want control of it because if you do your research, it says that it was believed that the land west of the Mississippi river was useless and that is where they were making the Indians go, so if the land west of it was useless why would they want control of the river? <span>I see similarities in many things that the United States used to have issues with. Many people fought for African American and Women’s rights but now it is becoming an issue again. Yes, things are much better than they were in the past, but women still are being segregated in ways that men aren’t. Segregation in many ways is still an issue in the united states, and most likely always will be because of how the past was. Something that is a similarity that is very apparent is the fact that immigration is very much still a huge part of our nation and our economic growth. Another similarity is the structure of the government. This is something that has been in place for a very long time and with only small changes has worked for us for a long time.</span>
