DOMAIN:

  • Set of allowable inputs (set of 1st elements of the ordered pairs in relation)
  • X point
  • AKA the input

DEFINE INPUT:

A number that'll be used in a function rule to determine the value of the output

RANGE:

  • Set of possible outputs (set of 2nd elements of the ordered pairs in relation)
  • Y point
  • AKA the output

DEFINE OUTPUT:

Result of applying a function rule to the value of ani input

ORDERED PAIRS:

(-1, 7): -1 is the domain & 7 is the range

(3, 5): 3 is the domain & 5 is the range

(4, 9): 4 is the domain & 9 is the range

(-6, -10): -6 is the domain & -10 is the range

(-2, 8): -2 is the domain & 8 is the range

-4 (2x + 13) + 3x = 80<br> How do you solve this out and get the answer
shusha [124]
Hey :)

x= -12

Use the distributive property to multiply −4 by 2x+13

−8x−52=3x+80
Subtract 3x from both sides
−8x−52−3x=80

Combine −8x and −3x to get −11x
−11x−52=80

Add 52 to both sides
−11x=80+52

Add 80 and 52 to get 132
−11x=132

Divide both sides by −11
x= 132/-11

Divide 132 by −11 to get −12
x=−12

Hope this helps :)

Answer: The number of the adult tickets is 168

Step-by-step explanation: * Lets explain how to solve the problem

- The adults ticket costs $10.50

- The students ticket costs $3.75

- The total money of the opening night is $2071.50

- The equation of the total money earned in the opening night is:

10.50 a + 3.75 b = 2071.50, where a is the number of the adult ticket

 and b is the number of the student ticket

- There were 82 students attended

* Lets solve the problem

∵ 10.50 a + 3.75 b = 2071.50

∵ The number of the students attended is 82

∵ b is the number of the students

∴ b = 82

- Substitute the value of b in the equation

∴ 10.50 a + 3.75(82) = 2071.50

∴ 10.50 a + 307.5 = 2071.50

- Subtract 307.5 from both sides

∴ 10.50 a = 1764

- Divide both sides by 10.50

∴ a = 168

∵ a is the number of the adult tickets

∴ The number of the adult tickets is 168
