How to solve this is by plugging in each x and y into the equation. f(x) means the exact same thing as y. If the answer equals each other then the point is on the line

Part A:

x = 3

y or f(x) = -4

-4 = -3(3^{2}) + 6(3) + 5

-4 = -3(9) + 18 + 5

-4 = -27 + 18 + 5

-4 = -9 + 5

-4 = -4 ------------------------------------------------->This point (3, - 4) is on the line

Part B:

x = -1

y or f(x) = 4

4 = -3((-1)^{2}) + 6(-1) + 5

4 = -3(1) - 6 + 5

4 = -3 - 6 + 5

4 = -9 + 5

4 = -4 ------------------------------------------------->The point (-1, 4) is NOT on the line

You can use a graph to check it, which I provided below.

Hope this helped!

Area of a rectangle:
A = w x h, where w is the width and h is the height.
w = 2.25 yd
A = 1.5 yd²
1.5 = 2.25 · h
h = 1.5 : 2.25 = 0.6667 = 2/3 yd
Answer:
The height of a banner is 2/3 yard.

The perimeter of a rectangle is 158 cm. If the length is 7 more than 3 times the width:
Goryan [66]
Width of rectangle = x
Length =3x+7
Perimeter of rectangle = 158cm
2(l+w)=158
2(3x+7+x)=158
2(4x+7)=158
8x+14=158
8x=158-14
x=144/8
x=18
Therefore the width of the rectangle is 18cm
Length=3x+18+7
54+7=61cm
Area=lxw
=61x18
=1098^2

George has $15. He tries to buy a movie ticket ($9.00), a pretzel ($2.65), a drink ($1.35), and two veggie cups ($1.74 each) but
mezya [45]

Answer:

He doesn't have enough money because the total of things he wants to buy is more than the money he has.

Step-by-step explanation:

9 + 2.65 + 1.35 + 2(1.74) must be less than or equal to 15. However all of this added together equals $16.48. This means that he doesn't have enough money.
