Hello : let  A(3,0)    B(0,-5)<span>
the slope is :   (YB - YA)/(XB -XA)
(-5-0)/(0-3)  = 5/3
</span>

<span> an equation, in the slope intercept form is : y - (-5) = (5/3)(x-0)
y = (5/3)x - 5</span>

Which graph is an example of a function whose parent graph is of the form y = √x?
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

The correct option is 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given parent function is

y=\sqrt{x}

1. Domain of the function is all positive real number including 0.

2. Range of the function is all positive real number including 0.

3. It is an increasing function. It increases at decreasing rate.

First graph increase at decreasing rate and it starts from (-4,-1), therefore the required function is

y=\sqrt{x+4}-1

Therefore graph 1 is an example of a function whose parent graph is of the form y = √x.

Second graph is a parabola, so it is the graph of a quadratic function.

Third graph is a rectangular hyperbola, so it is the graph of a rational functions.

Fourth graph is increasing at increasing rate, so it is the graph of an exponential function.

Therefore options 2, 3 and 4 are incorrect.

A business bought a lot of 2,500 lamps for 50,000 dollars and wants to sell them at 15 percent profit how much should each lamp
aev [14]
50,000 / 2500 = 20....he bought them for 20 bucks a piece. So if he wants to sell them at 15% profit, he would sell them for 20 + 0.15(20) = $ 23 bucks.

A 15% profit of 50,000 dollars is  0.15(50,000) = 7500. Plus the 50 grand spent totals 57500. So they want to make a $ 7500 profit. Selling 2500 lamps at $ 23 per lamp (2500 x 23 = 57500) makes them their profit.

I should just shut up now...answer is $ 23 per lamp

A manufacturer of radial tires for automobiles has extensive data to support the fact that the lifetime of their tires follows a
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer:  (C) 0.1591

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A manufacturer of radial tires for automobiles has extensive data to support the fact that the lifetime of their tires follows a normal distribution with

\mu=42,100\text{ miles}

\sigma=2,510\text{ miles}

Let x be the random variable that represents the lifetime of the tires .

z-score : z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

For x= 44,500 miles

z=\dfrac{44500-42100}{2510}\approx0.96

For x= 48,000 miles

z=\dfrac{48000-42100}{2510}\approx2.35

Using the standard normal distribution table , we have

The p-value : P(44500

P(z

Hence, the probability that a randomly selected tire will have a lifetime of between 44,500 miles and 48,000 miles =  0.1591
