A person Drove from 8am Tuesday to 5pm Wednesday. Total drive 396 miles. He have lunch for 30 min on Tuesday and sleep overnight

Answer:

average speed = 18 miles / hour

Explanation:

Given data

drive = 396 miles

time = 8 am Tuesday to 5 pm Wednesday = 33 hours

lunch = 30 min Tuesday + 30 min Wednesday = 60 min = 1 hour

sleep = 7 pm Tuesday to 5 am Wednesday = 10 hours

to find out

average speed

solution

we know that he take total time = 33 hours and he took rest + luch = ( 1 + 10 hours)

so total travel time is = 33 - 11 = 22 hours

so

average speed = distance / time

average speed = 396 / 22

average speed = 18 miles / hour

Triangulation is the preferred method of calculation for all astronomical distances.

if it was possible to triangulate all objects it would give the most accurate answer. So yes, it is the prefered method. However as this is not the case other methods are used, less accurate but more practical

It is difficult to observe 1-nanometer, 1 millimeter, and 100 meter radiation with ground-based telescopes. What are the reasons
Paul [167]

Explanation:

1 nano-meter radiations are very difficult to observe from the ground based telescope because most of this range of radiation is absorbed through ozone layer. A very small amount of this range escape out of the ozone layer. This remaining few radiations are very difficult to track from the ground base telescope.

1 millimeter range of radiation comprises of infrared. It has range from 710 nano-meter to 1 millimeter. Infrared radiation can be easily absorbed from water and carbon di oxide molecules present in the atmosphere. So, it is absorbed by water and carbon di oxide molecules in the atmosphere. Thus, it is difficult to observe from the ground based telescope.

100 meter radiations are are radio-waves. The charged particle present in the uppermost layer of atmosphere absorbs these radio waves. So, these waves are absorbed by charged particle in the upper atmosphere. Thus, it is difficult to observe from the ground based telescope.

In tae-kwon-do, a hand is slammed down onto a target at a speed of 14 m/s and comes to a stop during the 3.0 ms collision. Assum
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

A) The impulse is 11,7 kg.m/s . B) The average force on the hand is 3900N

Explanation:

Givens:

Hand's mass (m)= 0,90kg

Hand's initial velocity (vi)= 14m/s

Time of collision (t)= 3ms

A) Impulse is the change of momentum of an object when the object is acted upon by a force for an interval of time. We use the formula:

/F/ = m. /Δv/

Where:

F= Force of Impulse

m= Mass

Δv= change in speed ( vf-vi)

Using that formula we get:

/F/= 0,90kg . / (0m/s-14m/s) /

/F/=0,90kg . 14m/s

/F/ = 11,7 kg. m/s

*note that (vf) is 0 because the hand stops in the action, so it's final

velocity = 0

B)The average force is equal to the change in the momentum over the change in time. We use the formula:

/F/= m. (Δv) : Δt

Where:

F= the average force from the target

m= the mass of the hand

Δv= hange in speed (vf/vi)

Δt= change in time

*if we look closely, we find the we alredy have half of the equation because we have alredy calculated m.(Δv) in point A.

We boil the equation down to:

/F/= Impulse : Δt

/F/= 11,7kg.m/s : 0,003s

/F/= 3900N

*we use 0,003s as our time because the given time was 3ms.

*the final result is expressed in Newtons because our final result ends up beeing kg.m/s² = N
