Patrick's statement is incorrect.

Explanation:

Crackers come in package of = 24

Cheese slices come in package of = 18

As given, Andy wants one cheese slice for each cracker so we will find the least common multiple of 24 and 18.

The L.C.M is 72.

So, Andy needs 72 crackers and 72 cheese slices.

Number of cracker packages needed=\frac{72}{24}=3

Number of cheese slice packages needed=\frac{72}{18}=4

Hence, Patrick's statement is incorrect. Andy needs 3 packages of crackers and 4 packages of cheese slices to make them even.

A card is drawn at random from a well-shuffled pack of 52 cards. Find the probability that the card drawn is neither a red card
Reil [10]
Number of red cards including 2 red queens = 26
Number of black queens = 2
Therefore, number of red cards including 2 red queens and 2 black queens = 26 + 2 = 28
Number of cards neither a red card nor a queen = 52 - 28 = 24

P  =  \frac{ Number \: of \: favourable \: outcomes}{ Total \: numer \: of \: possible \: outcomes}

P (neither \: a \: red \: nor \: a \: queen \: card \: ) =  \frac{24}{52}  =  \frac{6}{13}

Pete found 5/6 of a party sand which in the refrigerator. He took 1/2 of the 5/6 of the sand which to his neighbors. How much of
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Pete found 5/6 of a party sand which in the refrigerator. He took 1/2 of the 5/6 of the sand which to his neighbors.

This is calculated as:

1/2 × 5/6

= 5/12

Hence, he took 5/12 of the sand

How much of the original sand which did pete take to his neighbors.

Let the original sand be represented as 1

Hence:

5/6 = 5/12 sand

1 = x

Cross Multiply

5/6x = 1 × 5/12

x = 5/12 ÷ 5/6

x = 5/12 × 6/5

x = 1/2

Therefore, pete took 1/2 of the original sand to his neighbors.
