8(3a+5)= 24a+40 and just leave it at that
You take 8x3a and you get 24a and then 8x5 you get 40

I'm assuming your teacher wants you to distribute. If so, then you multiply the outer term 8 by each term inside (3a and 5). After that you add.

8 times 3a = 24a

8 times 5 = 40

So 8(3a+5) becomes 24a+40

We do not combine 24a and 40 as they are not like terms. So we leave 24a+40 as it is.

A sum of money is shared between Ali and
Zarrin [17]

Answer:

Ben' share = 2(600/5) = $240

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the sum of money be x

Given that the ratio between Ali and Ben is 3:2

As adding both parts of ratio gives 5 parts so,

For finding one part = x/5

So according to given condition:

Ali's share(one part) + Ben's share(one part) = 120

3(x/5) - 2(x/5) = 120

By simplifying:

x/5 = 120

Multiplying both sides by 5

x = 600

So the total amount is 600

Ali's share would be = 3(600/5) = $360

Ben' share = 2(600/5) = $240

i hope it will help You!

Help me with this question this was supposed to be due yesterday!
Inessa05 [86]

Answer: Both the mean and median decreased.

Step-by-step explanation:

The addition of the 500 lb baby elephant will have a huge impact on the mean, since you'll be finding the average (adding all numbers then dividing). So the only logical answer would be the chosen. The median will most likely either decrease or stay the same, but since staying the same isn't an option for the median, it's most likely going to be decrease.

[I do apologize in advance if it's wrong, and next time try submitting work on time :)) Hope I helped!]
